Looking for a breeder I am looking for a breeder in the New England area. I don't however want to spend more than $1000.00 on a puppy. Does anyone have any reputable breeders in mind? Thank you in advance:) |

Good luck and hopefully soon you will have you companion. Reviews... - Yorkshire Terrier Breeder : |
Very few breeders that are any good in New England have puppies in your price range. If you are paying less, I'd be concerned that maybe you are not getting a quality yorkie. Yorkies have many specific problems and can be expensive to treat. I would recommend you go to a breeder who is reputable and who knows their breeding lines a while back. The YTCA website has breeder referrals. Of all the breeders I spoke to in New England last year, not one was under $1600 for a male and $1800 for female. Good luck finding your little :aimeeyork |
107barney is truly right, most of the good breeder will sell around that price range. i got my presto from clover hill yorkies and knock on wood she's an amazing breeder. I can call Susan with any question/concern that i have plus she happily baby sits presto whenever need be. I really think that was one of the best decisions we ever made as presto is super friendly, beautiful face and healthy infact he's a favorite with most of our friends! |
Years back i paid about $1600.00 for my boy and it sure has been the very best decision i ever made. I know also that a lot of times a good breeder will give you some break if you ask for a reasonable one and present as a perfect pet owner who is responsible and have your life all together and will be able to afford insurance during the lifetime of your pet. I would , again, stay away from breeders that cut corners and have little knowledge of the whole responsibility involved with breeding. I am so glad i researched before I got my Maxx and he is just perfect. Despite the budget you may have available i encourage you to go to a great breeder, you will see and be able to compare the level of knowledge and responsibility between breeders and perhaps that will give enough to make a sound decision when choosing your breeder. As they say here you buy your breeder first. Good Luck anyways. |
Check with : Jubilee, Taylor made,Clover Hill etc. Also but I believe all charge over that amount and for good reason. Testing, showing, etc is not cheap and the prices of the puppies reflect that. Just showing one dog to a championship alone is well over 3k not counting the testing required. So lets say they have 5k in each dog...that is 10k in a litter and there are 3 puppies add a little for health care for the bitch, xrays, shots for pups..worming....how could they possibly sell just one for 1k...it does not even begin to cover... I understand the need for a budget, I would tell you to spend the time and save up the amount and you will be happy you went with a reputable breeder and spend a little extra money to get a great breeder who will stand behind their pups. |
