Dog Parks on Cape Cod... I have a complaint to voice about the Cape... I have lived here my whole life and I have never had a problem with anyone ever bringing their dog anywhere in the afterhours (beaches, public parks, walking trails, etc.). A few weeks ago I was out with my little girl around 645am and I was yelled at because my dog was out getting excersise. If it is such a big problem then I want to know why there is no place for people to go with their dogs. I live here year round and am thrown off the beaches, trails, and out of the parks in the summer for what? By the time we are allowed to head back to these places it is too cold here to do so... What I want to know why is there only one major effort going on -Mashpee- to have a dog park set aside for our loyal little guys? If there is anyone in the Mid-Cape area that agrees with this then let's get together and start our own prospect for a dog-friendly park here. :dogprints Trevor |
Hi there! I think we met at the Dogs Allowed event in Mashpee? (We own one of Quigley's pups) We travel up(?) Cape Welfleet/Ptown area a lot (seems like they are more dog-friendly there?) Anyway, let me know what you have in mind....we'd be happy to help or plan something up your way too! I'm not sure where things are with regard to the dog park in Mashpee...I know what you mean about the beaches though, that's why we head to the National Seashore beaches....I would love to have a park meet/up place where Willow & Jake could run free! |
There's a dog park right off of 134 in Dennis. It's called Fresh Pond Dog Park and it has some fenced in areas, a place for dogs to swim and a walking trail. Tucker and I have been there a few times and he's enjoyed it although there haven't been a ton of dogs there when we've gone. |
