Dog Boarding in Manhattan/NYC Hi there, Does anyone have any recommendations for a place to board my pup for a week? Thank you!! mb :aimeeyork |
Are you going on vacation and unable to take them with you?.....I would not board at a kennel since they will be basically crated all day..when are you going, coming back etc...??, I am in staten island and I have to go out of the country for a couple of days so I am leaving my baby with someone that a fellow member recommended on this site..she only watches 1 dog at a time in her home and she has a yorkie so I am going away on Aug. 22nd and coming back the 27th...maybe an arrangement liek that would work better??? |

I think kennel boarding can be ok,, depending on the kennel. It is not the case that they will be in a crate all day if you choose the right kennel. Your dog will be handled a lot and have lots of free play. I used to board my pug at Wagging Tails in Tribeca. I highly recommend them if you absolutely have to kennel your yorkie. They are great and they run around in play areas and you can even log onto their website and watch the dogs play. they charge by weight and I was paying $40.00 per day. a yorkie will be cheaper. |
Thanks for your responses! As it turns out I'm going to be away the same time as Maximus' mom so I guess that wouldn't work for having the same person watch Buffy (Also known as: Buffus Maximus!) I think if a boarding place lets the dogs run around and play that would be a lot less guilt-inducing. I'll check out wagging tails. I especially like the idea of the web cams! I've also looked at Ritzy Canine Carriage House in midtown. Gorgeous place, nice people but... pricey....:( |
