Looking for a Yorkie in Southern NH (or Northern MA) Hello, I found this forum in my travels looking for a local breeder in my area. My family had 3 Yorkies several years ago. Tuppy and 2 littermates, Max and Twinkie. Twinkie was my dog. She was about 5 pounds (if that) and the runt of the litter. She had several health problems growing up, but managed to keep her fierce independence and fun loving nature. I had her for 17 years and was crushed when it was time for her to pass on. It has been 4 years and I'm actually in a place in my life that I can take in a new furry friend (work isn't taking up all my time and I feel like I'm ready for a new buddy). But where to start? I've found another site called Breeders.net and found some potential breeders listed that is close to my area. Does anyone have any feedback on this site [breeders.net] or any recommendations for a Breeder in NH (or northern MA)? There is a listing for a woman in Hudson, NH and I read a different post on this site for a breeder in Billerica, MA. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, |

Taylor Made Yorkies for sale are wonderful breeders here in So. Maine. Good luck! |
Re: Looking for a Yorkie in Southern NH (or Northern MA) Thank you for the responses. Greatly appreciated. Clover Hill Yorkshire Terriers appears to be in Lawrence, MA and Shenanigans is in Billerica, MA (even closer to Nashua, NH where I am)...I sense a theme of the Irish going here. :D Has anyone heard of Sterling Yorkshire Terriers in Hudson, NH or Jubilee in Manchester, NH? I found these listings on breeders.net. I've searched the forum and didn't have any results returned. |
Jubilee Yorkshire Terriers Someone asked about Jubilee Yorkshire Terriers in Manchester, NH so here is what I know. I recently got my puppy from this breeder and she is adorable. The breeder, Donna Plumpton, guarantees her dogs specifically for liver shunt. What I really like with Donna is that I was encouraged to come visit with the puppies before making a decision to get one. I'm such a fan of this breeder that a wrote a reference for her website on Jubilee Yorkshire Terriers Home Page and sent a couple pictures. Check it out. Sheila :D Manchester, NH |

I was researching breeders in the New England earlier this year and from what I can gather, Shenanigans and Clover Hill are the best options in Mass. I actually spoke with the owner at Clover Hill and one of the things that impressed me the most was that she won't ship her puppies. That says something huge to me about her level of commitment, given today's economy. She also seemed very careful as to who she would sell to; she insists people come to meet her in person. Just my 2 cents. Right now some personal situations have prevented me from following through on my plans, but as soon as possible I will be contacting either Shenanigans or Clover Hill. Good luck! |
I reached out to Clover Hill and never got a response and the puppies seemed to be really large on the website. I found a breeder in Weare, NH - Toy Town Yorkies and I got my little furry friend from Nancy and I'm so happy. I just picked her up a couple of weeks ago and she's 10 weeks today. She's adjusted really well to her new home and gets along with my parent's dogs (2 pugs). |
Excuse Me !!!!! How can you look at a web site and say the puppies look really large???? Go the the Breeder section and post you purchased an 8 week old puppy somewhere and see what those people think of a breeder that lets them go home that young. |
Jo-el, My Trixie Girl is due the end of the month. We are in Westford, MA which is just 2 exits south of NH. I will keep Yorkietalk up-to-date on the litter as we go if you'd like to keep in touch. You can see many photos of Trixie and Barkley (Dad). I searched for a long time for Barkley. It is very difficult in NE, to find a yorkie - there aren't too many (or I was very picky). Feel free to IM me with any questions. Kathy |
petfinder.com has yorkies that need new homes |

Susan is a wonderful breeder that cares very much for her pups! Look at my pics and you can see Sadie there. |

I would never recommend purchasing a puppy from ANY PET STORE! There is not a reputable breeder that would sell their puppies to a pet store. Reputable breeders would want to ensure their puppies went to proper homes, ensure spay/neuter, as well as having a contract and contact info for future use. |
It's a pet store Puppy Palace, I drive by there all the time. It's a store and it's common knowledge that pet store puppies never come from decent places. |
