Introduction from Farty in the uk First post on here. You sure do have a great forum.Have had yorkshire terriers as pets for close to 40 yrs. When the last Yorkie past on, 9yrs ago the heartache was awful & my wife & I said we did not want to go through it again. We did say when we retire we would have another Yorkie bitch.Recently we were talking about it when my wife said at 65 we may be to old, the pup could grow up & outlive us! Ok the quest was on,The last pups we had we had from a breeder that had 80 breeding bitches and you were welcome to view the kennels & see the parents of the pups etc.I always remember how clean & how well cared for they were. Unfortunately the breeder had also past on.10 yrs ago we paid about £60 for a pup now they are £300 & up. Could not find any local to us so looked up a few online sights. Suddenly I came across a picture of Chloe a 9 week old Yorkie that was up for re homing because the owner that bought her lived in an upstairs flat & they had a spaniel that did not take to her & barked at little Chloe all the time.Of course not good plus the neighbours were not pleased. As soon as I saw Chloes photo I new she was to be our new pup.Long story short 320 mile round trip she came home with me. I remember knocking the door of the flat & this little yorkshire terrier pup came running behind the owner. I had trouble getting into flat as she ran around my feet. I sat on the sofa & picked the exited puppy up & she ran around my shoulders licking my ears & face. Of course I was over the moon & just put £300 on the table & we were on our way home. Chloe cried up a storm the first night with us,but as time as gone on she has been a real blessing,so much so we bought another Yorkie pup we called Milly They get on so well together spend hours play fighting ,getting into all sort of mischief together. We have endless laughs at their antics together & of course the welcome you get when you get home is priceless .I hope the link for youtube video works. Regards from Farty |
Hi and welcome to YT. I am glad Chloe was able to find such a great furever home and a new best furfriend Milly. All were having a great time judging from the happy tail movement in the video. How can anyone resist a Yorkie's sweet face, and playful attitude. |
Hello Farty, Welcome. Loved hearing how you got your pups. Caleb's my first Yorkie, we're also getting a second one soon. Hubby and I had the talk about age and worry over out living our pups...decided this is our last pups (we're in our 50's) After this we'll take in older rescues, but can't think about that yet. Once again welcome and can't wait to see the link. You may have to try again. We used to live in Wales and miss it so much, perfect place for a Yorkie pup to enjoy. |
Welcome! Love the video |
Hi to all that replied. Thank you for your nice comments. I need to figure out how to post pics & sort out my avtar. Yes we live in a small village called Glais in Swansea its semi rural & we have a cycle path passing outside our back gate which leads to fine walks along side the river Tawe & the canal that runs through Clydach Of course the pups love to walk the area they cover miles & miles Its stamina I am short of,not so for Chloe who is now close to 6mths & Milly who is close to 5 mths. Have been to Canada many times & have relations in Orillia & Missasauga . To Oddsock I am 61 & my wife 60 hence the dilemma. Thanks all Farty |
