Outdoor little-dog meetup video :) I normally shoot still pictures of our meetups, but I forgot my battery and resorted to this iPhone video this week. Our little-dog meetup group has really blossomed in the past year. We have about 130 members on a Facebook page, and a good crowd shows up summer and winter -- even a few on the rotten days! It's really amazing. I've heard of vets and obedience instructors recommending our group to people with dogs that could benefit from socialization. And recently, a group was lobbying the Parks and Recreation commission to get approval for the first official fenced dog park in town. I called to offer our support and the woman had heard of us! She said "Your group is famous! We definitely want your support!" |
This was such an adorable video! All the dogs are absolutely having so much fun together :D All of these dogs are so well behaved & play so well together! No wonder your group is famous you guys seem like such a friendly/responsible group. That can be a rare thing to find these days with dog meet-ups. I hope things go well with the dog park approval. Such a cute video :D |

The fenced dog park was approved! It was a situation where the city had let an existing park run down, and a bad element was hanging out in the parks. The community went to the police and asked what they could do, and the police suggested a dog park. Dog parks have been proven to bring a positive element to parks and run the riff-raff off. So the community went to the city, and the city agreed to put in a dark park. It will be interesting to see first-hand if the dog park improves the environment. I'm guessing that if it does that other communities will welcome dog parks too. |
I absolutely loved this video!!!! I've watched it three times!!!! |
Love the video:) That was funny when Sable pawed at the other dog, I guess Joel is a sissy because when Sable did it to Joel he was scared of him, HAHA. Also I used to live in the house down the road from that park when I was little, I was bummed when I saw where the dog park was going to be, lol I was not aloud to go to that park when I was a kid, lots of bad kids and stuff, it's about time to put it to good use:D |
What an awesome video! |

And Rachael, I have no doubt Eddie and Jillie would have run from Sable's paw too! That Isabelle is a reach character. Yeah, we're a little concerned about the location. We don't want our dogs cut by liquor bottles, etc. But I've read stories of where dog parks really do have a way of cleaning up areas. The riff-raff doesn't like the steady stream of people through their area, and they just wander off elsewhere. It worked successfully in the Congressional Cemetery in Washington, D.C., which was turned into a cemetery/dog park. As far as that goes, the place we meet at Moon Park has been cleaned up since we started meeting there. When we started 4 years ago, it wasn't unusual to find people sleeping in the dugouts when we arrived. There were lots of broken liquor bottles in the dugouts and trash. I still see the occasional bottle, but I haven't seen any people sleeping in there in years. |
Oh my they really had a Blash and you did such a great job putting it all together ! I wish we had a nice fenced in area for public use for our pups to run and play. |

You do such a great job with your videos, Mike. I love the music you always chose for each one..it's always so fitting. And the text commentary rules. That reluctant goodbye at the end was too cute..just being literally dragged away. hehe |
We have a Yorkie meetup group in Northern Virginia (NOVA Yorkies and Friends) and it is great!!!! It certainly has helped my little Deuce and my daughter's little girl Maddie learn how to behave as part of a pack. We have about 75 members right now and about 20 attend meetings. Its such a blast to see the puppies get the older ones moving. We also have a little education program as part of each meeting. It's been working great for us. |
Love the video Mike! The pups all seem to get along quite well. Jillie is too cute - chasing off the big dogs. :p |

I loved this video, it made me so happy! Great song choice too, I've never heard that one before! Wish we could come! |
My favorte type of video's. I could watch dogs playing like that all day. Funny at the end when someone was leading two dogs away.....one didn't want to go and tried pulling on the leash with it's mouth. Just like kids! |
