What a great and informative video Mike. Thanks! |
Kaji looked SOOOO cute!! Jackson never has worn booties in the snow, but then again we don't live in Alaska (though it felt like we did one year!) but your gang looks so cute with them on, I may have to just buy him a pair, LOL! He will probably never leave them on. I think this was the most snow we've had in a looonggg time: That was in 2010. |
Kaji has the same jacket! Only he wears it in our version of cold weather. |
Wow, that IS a lot of snow. Doesn't look like he had too much trouble with it, though. :) Some dogs just may be better suited to it than others. My Lab doesn't use them until it gets below zero. Eddie doesn't seem to mind it without them, but then some snow will freeze in his paw and he'll start hobbling. Jillie generally starts hobbling quicker without them. Love that vid. |
You should narrate more Yorkie Documentaries ;p My two let me know when they need booties.... they'll step outside and lift a paw so I know its too cold and hurting their pads. :( Always makes me feel bad. |
Great video. Makes me cold watching it!! Brrrrr! I love the hiding under the table!! |
Great PSA Mike! ;) Your kiddos are just as oh-so-cute as ever!!! P.S. Patrick and I got married Oct 7th! Bella & Maya were part of the wedding, running down the aisle just before I walked down. :D I sure wish his parents still lived in AK....we'd love to come visit again!!! |

Cute video! :) Unfortunately even if I put a steak on the snow 2 feet in front of Kaos he would not budge. :p |
where did ya get the booties. mine like to go out but i worry so much about their pads in the winter time esp Bentley since he prefers to make trails for Sadie and will plow the whole yard if we let him. he sits outside no matter how yucky it is too he's my outside pup. but booties would be nice to have. |
Loved the video!!! Now I just have to find out where I can get those fleece booties!!:p |

OMGGGGGGG Mike!!! The videos are awesome! Your yorkies look adorable as always!!!! We have a lot of snow in Boston too and Haruka doesn't like walking in the snow. So it is amazing who they can run around!! And.. one more OMGGGGGGGGG about the video!! You have such a great voice! Okay.. let me watch it one more time :) |
Very, very cute!! :) Now, do tell, how can I get mine to go out in the rain? I honestly don't think an entire bag of treats would convince them. They think they are made of sugar and going to melt. |

Jillie was a piece of cake. I got her at 12 weeks and knew what I was doing. I started by having her walk across all types of surfaces, wet grass, puddles, mud, brush. Then I treated rainy walks no different than any other walk and didn't make a fuss about it. No coats because it wasn't too cold. Rusty and Eddie helped, too, because she saw it didn't bother them. If I was trying to condition an adult who didn't like the rain, I'd start in the backyard with LOTS of distractions. Treats, toys, maybe even other friendly dogs who don't mind the rain. Start with a short outing on a LIGHT rainy day, then increase the duration. And always, always carry treats when it's raining. |

How long was their walk in the snow? |

I think you can go as long as you can keep them moving. If they get tired and slow down, they're gonna get cold. |
Where did you get the booties? |

Thanks. Found it. |
Jillie is a barney bad bottom (barnette actually) shipping Elvis up there to get snow training!:p:thumbup: Seriously I think hey are hiding under the table just because they know it's the routine to get treats!:D Another awesome video! |
