Update on Noah (parvo)
 

Just wanted to update on Noah. He has been at the vet for over a week (9 days) and is doing much better. I asked the vet for permission to bring Allie to visit him, thinking it might help with his recovery (Allie has been fully vaccinated, has tested negative for parvo and has actually been exposed already). The vet agreed and allowed it. He loved her being there.


I was honestly thinking we might have to have him put down on Monday- his WBC count was below 10, he was septic and his blood sugar would not level out. The vet didn't think he was goin to make it-obviously he is a fighter. His WBC is increasing and he is eating and drinking on his own!

Thanks for all the support, prayers and kind words and messages I received. It really means a lot!

I just love watching him play. He is a fighter and will be a strong little man in no time. I think the hardest part with Parvo is on us trying to keep up the faith and staying strong for them. It really takes a toll on us as well as them. Hopefully you are able to catch up on the lost sleep. You will need it when that little fireball comes back home.

So happy to hear that Noah is doing better. What an ordeal you have been through with him. He is such a cutie, its great to see him playing with Allie!

Aw, they are so happy to see each other after 9 long days. So glad to hear Noah is doing better. Praying he is on the road to a full recovery.

Keeping Noah in my prayers that he can come home soon and be with Allie.

I think I have convinced the vet to let him come home for a few hours tomorrow and see how things go, and go back for overnight.
I'm just happy he's doing so well.

I am So glad noah turned around for the better! have been saying prayers for hiim! So glad he got to play with his little sis! Im sure that will help!

So happy to hear Noah is better i know he enjoyed his visit. Prayers are with you, I know this has to be very hard being away from your baby this long. Hopefully he will be home soon.

He's coming home
 

After 10 days of being at the vet, Noah is coming home tomorrow. (cross fingers, pray and hope)
He was having problems with his sugar levels staying up, and every time the vet would lower his IV drip (with the sucrose) his glucose would drop. They were afraid it was because he wasn't eating very much so I have been up here almost all day spoon feeding him with a baby spoon and baby food even to make sure he is eating every 2-3 hours. I honestly think he didn't like the food they were offering. He ate 1/2 a jar of turkey baby food and wanted more (poor little guy acted like he was starving). So, she said as long as levels stay up throughout the night, he can go home in the morning. He no longer has an IV, and his catheter came out because of him pulling, tugging, and whatever else he was doing to get rid of that pesky thing, so they just left it out. He is chasing around a medicine bottle as I type and trying to get out of the room they have us in.

Anyway, just pray that he can maintain his glucose throughout the night (and that they will feed him the baby food versus the wet food they were offering that he won't touch) and that he gets to come home. I think he will do much better with us at home because we can devote 100% of our time to him, making sure he gets spoon fed if need be and just loving on him and things they can't do because they have other responsibilities and animals to take care of.

I will say his hair is a mess!! Both paws and his neck have been shaved for IV access and his fur ball look makes it look even worse lol.

What an amazing story. :) Noah is so, so lucky to have such a wonderful mom! :) Happy that he is coming home.

Consider the prayers said, and they will keep coming until he is out of the woods. Bless his heart...
