Introducing Shelby the Shih Tzu!
 

So I know this is a Yorkie forum but every time I'd google dog stuff this site would pop up so I figured I'd just sign up and say hi!
Shelby is my little shih tzu at a wopping 4.5 lbs, and she just turned 1 year old, here are a couple of videos for you all!
The first 2 are her most recent videos, and the last when she was 4 months old, enjoy! :)

Gosh what a cute and very smart pup!

I have to be honest, though. Your 2nd video scared me to death! Brachycephalic dogs are prone to eye problems, and although she enjoys the wind in her face, a small bug hitting her in the eye could do a lot of damage. I couldn't tell if there was a leash on her or not while she was hanging out of the window, I pray there was. Any dog is at risk of jumping out of a car window.

I am not trying to offend in any way, but we've had some members' dogs here pass away while riding in the car, one on a lap in the front seat was killed when the airbag inflated.

The safest way to travel with a dog in the car is to have them in a seatbelt restraint (they make heavy duty harnesses that clip right into the seatbelt buckle), or there are a number of carseats that keep a pup safely restrained, or some folks put them in a kennel that is then secured by the seatbelt.

If you would like some help in finding something appropriate for your pup let us know.

I sincerely mean no harm in this post, just wanting to give a head's up so that you, your family and your baby can enjoy a long life together, and forego the pain and sadness that others here have experienced already...

Oh my I didn't mean to scare you, don't worry,
I was holding onto her harness quite tight from behind with a leash!

We were only going about 25 miles an hour on a very empty road, I appreciate your concern I've heard lots of horror stories that makes me just wanna cry.
She's normally in her carrier in the back seat but on short trips I like to let her enjoy the air as much as she can. :)

I actually got a kwigy bo carrier because of all the positive feedback from here, I'm looking forward in getting it soon!

What a smart girl! She is so tiny for a shih-tzu. I am dogsitting my parent's two shih-tzus right now, and they are 10-13 pounds.

welcome im glad now i found another shih tzu owner when i first found this site i really thought people would kinda boot me out because i dont own a yorkie yet but all they wonderful people make u feel great and watching ur videos made my day!! thanks for sharing!!
