Play Time - but I have a question I apologize for the low lighting of this video but had to hurry and capture it before they stopped playing. I have a silly question........Toby has always played "rough" in my opinion. It always looks like he's trying to be the alpha dog. Does it come across that way or is this how all yorkies play? Speedy doesn't seem to mind and believe me, there have been a few times she has put him in his place when he's gotten too rough. I just want to make sure I shouldn't be correcting him. |
My Bitsy plays the same way with our mini doxie, the noise she makes you would think she is attacking him!! LOL. It's just play though. Yours seems tame to the way Bitsy gets at times. I wouldn't worry about it.:) |
It seems normal to me. Kaji and one of his little dog friends play "bite the ear" too. They have special moves. Kaji's is the butt slam. It's hilarious to watch. If I at any time feel as though it's too rough, I would stop it. Better safe than sorry right? |
Thanks ladies. Sometimes he cracks me up. If Speedy doesn't feel like playing he "noses and nips" at her. It is too cute. I figured the noise he makes is typical of yorkies when they play as I've seen it in videos on YT. Toby has a short attention span though. He will play hard for about 5 minutes and then he's done. His favorite spot to go after is her ears. She is so good with him. She's about 18 lbs. and he's 8 lbs! |
My girls sound like they are killing each other and to look at them while they are playing you'd think they were. Bridget is clearly the alpha in our home, but when they play - Greta is always the one on the top that has Bridget on the ground on her back. I was told that since Bridget is the alpha she is "allowing" Greta to do that. In the beginning it scared me and when I'd try to break them up - they would both just look at me like they were saying "What???" and go right back at it. |
