Eddie practices nose work in the snow I was afraid the arrival of winter was going to mean the end to outdoor nose work practice, but Eddie LOVED it. Our walk actually improved because he wouldn't let me out of his sight, and I never had to chase him down. Nose work vids tend to be boring, so I tried to keep it short. |
Wow Mike you are both a creative work in progress!Thanx for the smile. |
Wow! Never boring! I love watching Eddie work! Great video!:D |

Thanks, everybody. And ha, Katie. I get fewer comments on my nosework vids, so I imagine most people rolling their eyes as they watch! I'm glad some people enjoy them. :) |

It is not boring to watch Eddie doing whatever he wants to do!! Hi Mike. I haven't been on here for quite a while, but I do come back to peek at who's doing what. It' getting colder here in So Cal. Eddie---you are awsome as usual!! Keep up the great work. :animal-pa Suz p.s., you can keep the snow in Alaska!!:D |
Thanks everybody! And Suz, it's not cold enough until you see white everywhere you go! :p Nice to hear from you! |
Good work, Eddie. Nice to see them all again. |
Great work Eddie! I love how he uses his nose/head turns to point and tell you, "It's here Dad. Look." Adorable! What are you using for the scent in the little tin? |

The national nose work association chose 3 specific odors to use in competition so all dogs nationwide would be trained to identify the exact same thing. The birch is the first one they learn. Next comes: Anise (we use "Aniseseed" aka*Pimpinella anisum variety, NOT Star Anise,Illicium verum) and Clove*(we use "Clove Bud" aka Eugenia Caryophylatta or Syzgium Aromaticum) I wouldn't advise anyone to buy the oils and dive in without some instruction. Eddie took two 6-week classes finding treats before odors were even introduced. K9 NOSE WORK |
