Hola Yorkie Lovers! My name is Kisha and I have a 1 year old Yorkie named Biggs. The site is apparently concerned because I've never posted before. But I have appreciate the site. Biggs is very healthy, but there are 3 major concerns I have right now. 1. his teeth. I don't brush them as often as I should and I'm hoping I'm not too late to do some corrective brushing. We're working on it :-) 2. His jumping. I know Yorkies have to be careful to protect their knees and work within the abilities of that small body! I recently bought him steps to get up on my bed (it's pretty high). He will now climb up, but he'll still jumps down....YIKES! Not sure how to fix this. Before I can say steps he leaps off! 3. I'm not sure if it's normal or not. But I've noticed lately that he bites his paw nails. Even when they are trimmed. :-/ Well I suppose if you have any answers or suggestions or even can just relate it would be helpful. Thanks to all and I look forward to sharing with you more in the future! |
welcome to YT...glad you found us....can't wait to see pictures of your baby! |
Hi Kisha! WELCOME! Allergies can sometimes make them chew their paws. Mine (I have 3) will chew when they are bored. Teeth, I don't brush my pups teeth but they do eat a hard kibble which helps keep tarter off their teeth. How much does Biggs weigh? |
He's between 7 and 8lbs. We haven't had to go to the vet lately, thank God! so I'm not sure. But I think you may be onto something. I think he bites when he's bored. He also only eats dry food. I recently had someone ask me how I keep his teeth so clean. Then I felt guilty for not brushing! lol They say not brushing can eventually cause health problems. |
