Chasey and his bag of tricks! Here are some tricks in his repertoire. You will see how much he loves the speak command. He sasses me with "give me my treats, now". LOL! We are currently working on sit pretty. Tips and helpful suggestions are welcome :D! |
Great job! How old is Chase? We are teaching Jack a few tricks - he is a little over 5 months old now and is doing pretty good. He can do sit, come, stay, down, shake and dance. Need to get him to play dead, roll over, speak, and sit pretty. Oh, he also fetches and will drop whatever toy he has brought over to us. |
Aww, Chase is such a smartie tartie! ;) I LOVE his hair... lol He looks so soft and cuddly. Give him a big kiss from Miss Molly. ;) |

Chase is SO smart!!! He's so cute, too. I really love his hair, too cute. I've been having the same problem with Jackson and "sit pretty." He can't keep his balance, LOL. Poor thing. Dance is cute. I didn't even mean to teach Jackson it, I kinda just put a hand motion and said "dance" when he was on his hind legs and he kept up with it, lol. to you & Chase! He's such a smart boy! Good job! |
Chase is doing very well with his tricks! Can't wait to see him sit pretty! |

Pasquale is really good at the waiting game...you can stick a giant ham in front of him and tell him to wait...and he'll do it...BUT you tell him to COME...and the dog looks at you like you've got 4 heads. BTW, i love Chase's little top knot ..its so adorable!! Keep up the good work JC! :D |

Awww super adorable! I love his hair, too. It's so thick and long! Just wondering, how long have you been working with him on tricks? Is he older or younger? I have a 7 year old that doesn't know any tricks but have been working on them slowly. So far we have sit and come, that's about it. Would love to get her to learn down and spin. Bang bang is so cute, too! Do you have any tips from your experiences you could share? |
I'm in WUV!!! He is so cute and smart, and I love, love, love his hair!!! :D |
The comments on his hair are so funny! I saw a picture another Yorkie on YT groomed with the longer top and beard (?) and now it's Chase's signature look. My friends call him surfer or hippie dog. LOL! @ Lolli lah. It's never too late to teach tricks! Chase is 1 1/2 years old. The basic sit, down, stay commands, he learned in puppy kindergarten classes. He got some tricks right away, but others took days/weeks. Hope the tips below help! To teach down- Hold a treat or toy down on the ground until he figures out what to do to make you release the treat. It helps if you have a wall behind him, so he can't scoot back. Once he lies down, give him the treat and accompany it with the command "down". Repeat until he associates movement with "down" To teach spin- This one's easy! Hold the treat or toy above him and get him to follow it in a circular movement. Sometimes you can take a movement they do naturally and turn it into a trick. For instance, Britster mentioned Jackson already loved "dancing" and she turned it into a cute trick. Watch his video, you'll see what I mean :). I'm just a beginner in all this as well. Good luck! |
Great job! |
