I am grateful for what a good job Missy surgeon did repairing her leg. I've seen a couple of other dogs that have had broken legs repaired and they favour them a little. Missy's is 100% functionable. It's so nice to see her able to use it just like normal.

The little running outburt started all because I said, "I'm going to get you" LOL!

LOL.... Nelson & I are sitting here watching the videos with Daisy and she is "talking" to Missy as she is watching her run! :p
It's so stinkin' cute. Daisy is talking to her little girlfriend!! I love it!!:D

Great result - how long post surgery is that taken? She is a real cutie.
My Belle is 2 weeks post and would do that now if I let her! I'm trying to keep her really rested these next 2 weeks so she gets the full benefit of the healing and then I hope she is allowed to run again!

The surgery was expensive because of the type of break (right lateral condyle) and her small size. She needed a pin and screw placed. The screw rejected after 6 weeks and had to be removed. Left lateral condyle here! It's a very common break (at least our specialist has seen a lot), but on such weenies is the challenge! I don't know how it compares, but I paid 2.5k sterling (on a holiday weekend) for Belle's surgery. I'd also pay again in a heartbeat! She was walking normally on a lead by day 4 post op - I am more devastated it happened in the first place. She developed an infection and got lame this week, but we are working on that with antibiotics. Downside is that she has to almost certainly get the metalwork taken out because of that...we will see in 2 weeks. I'm really chuffed your little one has such good results - I hope ours are as good. :thumbup::thumbup:

I don't mind you asking at all. I get asked that question alot. It is an awful lot of money to repair a broken leg. People don't understand why it didn't just need a cast. Here's a picture to show how she broke it. It was actually fractured in two areas. That is why it's a trickier surgery to do. :)

Yeah Missy you sure can run fast! When these babies need surgery and we hear what it's going to cost we can remember this video of Missy running. It's worth every penny to see your baby run again. Piper had surgery for Legg Perthes in December and now she too is running.
