digestion problems Hi, My Yorkie is a little over a year old. I'm feeding him Canadaie dry food. My problem is he doesn't seem to chew his food. I put water over it to soften it but it seems more often than not, he will vomit the food back up. He eats very fast and I think he just swallows it whole. I've tried feeding him small amounts at a time, sometimes that works. I usually feed him again about an hour after this happens because I can tell he's hungry again. I really don't want to switch to canned food but if he isn't chewing his food it isn't really helping his teeth anyway. Does anyone have any ideas that might make him take his time and chew. |
Someone yesterday suggested that you put a tennis ball in the bowl so the dog has to nose the ball out of the way for each bite of kibble. It slows them down a lot Good luck! My large yorkie (19 pounds) does not chew her food either. She wolfs it down in seconds flat. She doesn't throw up though. Michele :-) |
