4 year old shots ? I know at 4 puppy is due for a rabies shot. Now is that it at 4 yrs old? Please elt me know? I dont like bringing Faithie to the vet as she is so petrified. |
Heartworm test ? Does anyone here not have their Yorkie on heartworm med. to prevent. Due to the size of your tiny puppy, they always want to draw blood from her tony veins and I cant understand why? when they know the puppy has no problems. |
Depending on when she had DHPP last, she may need it again. Most of us keep our dog on heartworm preventative. Some vets insist on testing yearly even if the dog is on meds year-round. They draw from Ellie's jugular. |

This is to verify if the puppy don't have heartworms . No ones have xray eyes to check the heart . |
I understand your struggle with the drawing blood and having them on what seems to be an unneccesary medication. But, due to also the fact that we have tiny babies, if they ever do aquire heartworms it can be devastating and fatal to them. If your baby ever goes outside he or she has the exposure to aquire heartworms. I too have a problems with medications and treatments that aren't needed, but this is really one that is needed. Just think of it this way. Its one less thing you have to worry about your baby getting is heartworms if she is given a chew treat just once a month with the heartworm medication in it??? Is that too bad? Its just too common a problem in dogs and just too easy to prevent. |
