Layla's second hydrotherapy adventure!

Lately I have been noticing that Layla is picking up her back right leg more often that normal and she has stage 2 LP in it. I remembered reading Kim (simonandhallie) posting about hydrotherapy for Simon's knee so with her help and suggestions this was our second attempt at hydrotherapy. Layla is wearing the life jacket so that i have something to hold on to :p and the water isn't deep enough in the tub, so next time we have a few adjustments to make!

LLLLAAAAAYYYYYLLLAAAAAAAA you are so pretty in the tub! Tell your mama to fill up that tub :)

She looks so cute and Simon said she can come swim in the tub with him anytime :) I'll try to video Simon tomorrow if I can find a place to put my camera (I need extra hands).

Layla says we'll be there to help out :) She'll be Simon's encouragement and I'll hold the camera :D

What a great idea and Layla looks adorable in her life jacket...I like that idea even for those Yorkies who just need some exercise and don't have a pool or hot tub to do it in!:thumbup:

how adorable! I'm sure it's going to help strengthen the ligaments around her knees....what a great idea!

lol she tolerates it. If i want to REALLY get her paddling i point her in the direction of the side of the tub and she swims like crazy thinking that if she just swims hard enough she'll be able to reach the edge and get out... horrible i know... but i have a hard time getting her to use her back legs... she just uses the front ones :p they'll have big muscles and her back ones will still be chicken legs :p

she did really good with her therapy....where may i ask did you get her Life Jacket.....unfortunately this is one of the questions i have for my vet next week when Smokey goes for his yearly shots and check up

i got it from a Marine store called West Marine. I know there are a few of them in the USA.. but you can also get life jackets at Petsmart.

thanks...she sure does look cute in hers.......im hopeing i dont need one...as we never take Smokey near Water....but like to know these things just in case......he has a tendency to life his right hind leg when he has been ""chasing "" my husband...which is the cutest think you ever saw..hubby is around 6'5"......but usually he is fine..only every once in a while does he favor it
