Nice to meet everyone Thanks for the welcome. Quick story here. Came on this site Sept of 06 strictkly be chance. The posting below was left by a past member named Layla's Mommy. I was looking into getting a Yorkie about 3 months to seeing this posting, but my wife was totally against it. When she saw the below posting however, and the fact that I was on the phone with Heather things just were destiny. I gave the phone over to my wife and her and Heather found they had more in common than they thought possible (both woman had lost babies at 22 weeks due to placenta abrubtion). My wife knowing that I had found this site and posting by absolute chance, and the the fact about the baby situation made my wife say "We are getting this dog." We drove up(me, my wife, and my four year old daughter) to the boonies (Whitehall NY) to get this little rat of a dog who was shaking and weighed 1.3 lbs. We fell in love, but Heather was completly crying having to give up Layla. Well Ayear 1 1/2 years later, Layla is a killer at 6.5 pounds. It is very ironic that Heather had to give up Layla due to her cats mauling her. Now Layla attacks and beats the hell out of my cats; one of which weighs 25 lbs. She is absolutley gorgeous, and a wild hellion to say the least. I think playing rough with her has made her a tough doggy. She loves it and comes back for more and more. So much, that she tires me out. I would like to see how Heather's cats would match up now. Just goes to tell ya "All fighters need a great trainer." LOL. Enjoy the video, I'll make more. This is really breaking my heart, but my cats have declared war on poor Layla. She was cornered by the big one the other night and I got there in time to catch her going for Layla's throat...I can't keep her in the environment where she feels so attacked. She is so tiny and doesn't have it in her to fight back...such a sweetie. She needs to go to a home with no cats. I think she would be fine with other yorkies though I haven't had her around any to say for sure. She is up to date on her shots and everything. Layla has NOT been spayed, but she is WAY TOO TINY to breed. Please do not inquire if you plan to breed her. In fact if you have a male, I would like to at least have a vet reference to check and be sure that your male is altered to prevent preg. I was looking for a male unaltered, but Layla would not have been here during her heats. So there would be no chance of breeding...just had to say that. Layla loves attention. She is like velcro puppy! She gets in the shower with me all on her own, so she probably will cling to you as well. She is a GREAT jumper, gets on couches and beds with zero problem. Getting down...well, needs something to get down onto for safety. She is not housebroken yet...we have accidents at least twice a day still, but she is trying. She will come with her simple solutions puppy pads and the puppy training phermone spray to attract her to the pad for potty. Also, with all her toys, clothes, and treats. She is pretty spoiled, and I hope to find her a home that will spoil her just as much, if not more! I am attaching pics of her below. She is just the cutest little girl with very silky hair. She is starting to break a nice silvery blue in the middle of her back at the part, and her head is blonding up a lot. No clue yet what coloration she will have as an adult, but she sure is cute. I have more pics, so if you are interested let me know and I can send them. |
:) Congratulations on getting Layla! Glad she's able to hold her own against the cats! Welcome to YT! |
YEEEAH Layla, It is so nice to hear good stories like this. Layla as I see is with a loving family. Congrats on getting her. By the way you are from my wing of the woods. I am stationed in Missouri.
