Kirby gets to say goodbye to the cat crate! Yippeee Skippeeee! The vet is so impressed with his sudden improvement. He can be allowed to walk around the house, but if he starts getting too frisky, he has to go in the crate...a bigger one than the cat crate! He has to be closely watched so he doesn't try jumping or running and if he gets too excited, we can give him a sedative to calm him down. I don't think those sedatives are working any more anyway. Other than the sedatives, he's weaned off the prednisone and we won't give him his pain killers unless he seems to be in pain. Little Kirby is on the mend! I noticed that he shivers when outside in this cold weather, where he never did before. He needs to build up the muscle again and I think that will help with the cold.
He may have even walked a little better today. I should do a video each day to watch the progress. He is hardly dragging that right leg that was paralyzed. I guess the disc must have smoothed out and isn't pushing on his spinal cord so hard.
Sorry to ramble. I'm just so excited! Thank you all you dear people for your prayers! You've made a miracle! Please pray for his continued recovery! Hugs to all of you! |
