Ok, so before I left this morning I googled as many pet boutiques as I could find in Philly. Some were closed or out of business, some I had to drive around the block a few times to finally see it, and one was just out right icky. Anyway all the stores I passed by were small. There is supposedly a Chic Petique store on N.2nd, I drove by but too fast to pinpoint its exact location. Online it says its on Liberty Walk. While looking for it I passed by a small enclosed dog park on 3rd street. This may be the place to do it if anyone who actually lives in the city can look into if the store actually exists or not. We can either just meet at the store and have a mini meetup, meet and then walk over to the park, or just meet at the park. I was hoping the event the 12th street gym is going to have would be a good meetup opp., but the lame part is that they are calling it a "pet expo" that doesn't allow you to bring your pets. Anyway, the address for the Northern Liberties Chic Petique is 1040 N.2nd for anyone who gets the chance to check it out. Please do so soon, before it gets too cold for a meetup. |
I'm a dork, both locations are closed on Mondays. Which explains why I couldn't see into the stores. :D So, now we just need to set up a time and place. |
Yeah, both Chic Petiques are closed on Mondays. I also think the dog park over that way is membership only. Is this it? http://www.oriannahill.org/ Do you have a link for the 12th St. Gym Pet Expo? I haven't heard about it. |
So I looked on 12th Street Gym website but the flyer for the pet expo is so tiny that I can't read it! :D ETA: Nevermind. I found it. I'm going to post a new thread about it in case anyone would be interested and might not see it in here. |

This is from the site "Membership is free, but we sincerely encourage all park users to consider becoming paid, voting members of the park. The annual contribution is tax-deductible, and costs only $30.00 per voting member, per year. It entitles you to vote in board elections and, we hope you agree, is a small price to pay for this precious piece of open space in a quickly changing neighborhood. Additionally, some of our events are voting-members only." So maybe we could meet there after all, also there is a non-enclosed park across the street from it. |
Oh, OK.. I see that now. |
I like to take both my yorkies to the Schuylkill Dog Run. They have two completely fenced in areas for dogs. One is for big dogs and one is for small dogs. Here is the link to the site for you all to check out. :) http://www.phillyfido.net/ |
I almost forgot....I live near the Art Museum....and behind the Museum is a beautiful park, though not closed in. I take my babies there also. Thy have ample space for a meet-up. As for the shops that you have been looking into...let me know if you want me to check any out. I live...as I said in the city and can do that no problem. let me know....pm me! |

Anyway I'm flexible on where the location is, since I will have to drive down anyway. I am all for going to Schuylkill Dog Run, now lets set up a date! As of right now all my weekends in November are free. Once we set up one, the rest of them will be a cinch. |
I am good with the Schulkyl Doggie Run too! I am only free two weekends in November ( 3rd, 4th, 17th) so let me know if any of you are free as well. I'll bring some treats for the pups!!! Who else is interested? p.s. do any of the doggies interested have any allergies? I make homemade treats and have several recipes if there are any allergies...my Tino is allergic to peanut butter! |
I would prefer Nov. 3 or 4, since the weather is still nice. |
