This is an ALL INDOOR EVENT just for you and your yorkies!!!!

Dinner! Vendors! Prizes! Parade! Activities for you and your Yorkie!

Below is the info sent to me about this event:

It is ALL indoors!! We set it up that way for this year so no worry about rain or tornadoes like in past years. But in order to have it indoors I had to agree to having a dinner. THAT is what the $35 is for. Not my idea. But I was held hostage - if I wanted the room I had to have the dinner. So we eat roast sirloin, pasta, chicken, vegetables, au gratin potatoes, rolls, and a salad bar. Not bad...

We will have a vet speak about the pet food recall crisis, microchipping, several groomers will be there to do nails and such - profits go to rescue, along with the chef prepared dinner, Yorkie Cake (always a treat!), Yorkie Bingo, an auction, many vendors to shop for all kinds of things. There will be a prize for the most glamorous diva and leading man. We will have a fashion show and a rescue parade (Bernie will SHINE!), so yes, we have lots planned, all in doors and safe. I tell everyone to bring an xpen with them so that if the dogs get tired, they can camp out in a quiet corner while the people do their silly things.

i signed up, dinner and all. Yeah!! I talked to the yorkie rescue and they said if there is not at least 50 people signed up it will be cancelled. As of 5/18 still did not have 50 participants. Come on and sign up for a fun day just with yorkies. :)

Sounds like a lot of fun!! If I had known ahead of time I might have been able to make it. But there is always next year!!:)

When do we have to sign up by or can I decide last minute. I live in pittsburgh and my parents live in north eastern pa...I was planning on visiting them sometime that week but nothing is definite yet

Sorry i don't think you can decide last minute. The deadline that is set is for the 25th. Hope to see you there.:)

If you want to have dinner, the deadline is this Friday. But, for the rest you might be able to sign up later.

How far is this hotel from Philadelphia? Does anyone know?

According to mapquest about an hour's drive (depending on where you are in Philadelphia)

do you know how far off 422 it is? I was just up in that area this past week and again 2 weeks prior for my son's college basball playoffs, it's not a bad drive at all. I think I might go to this!

This sounds awesome! Do you know when the sign-up deadline is?

I think to sign up for dinner the deadline is tomorrow...but, I know they are trying to be as accomodating as they can.

You can pay with paypal (use the donate link)at www.saveayorkierescue.org or just send Marilyn an email and see if you can still send a check. I believe she told me the deadline is so that they can let the hotel know the number for dinner.

Make sure to mention that you are a YT member! I hope to see you there!

Another question. Do you have to stay at a hotel overnight? Because I probably could just drive home (since I'm not that far away). It's only a 1-day event, right?

Correct. We are just going for the day! I'm really looking forward to this.

Question about Yorkie Rescue Day in PA
 

Maxwell and I are coming from Virginia and bringing my sister in law that lives 30 mins. away from the event. She wanted me to find out if there were going to be any adoptable rescue yorkies at the event?

We sent in our check for the afternoon activities. Sounds like fun.

I'm so glad you are going. I'm not sure the answer to your question, but if you email SAYMarilyn@gmail.com to let her know that you registered and are a YT member, you'll get a special nametag at the event. SHE should know the answer to you question about yorkies, I'd ask her.

Thanks, she answered back right away. Maybe one or two. My sister in law wants a rescue yorkie, but not ready yet, and wanted a heads-up in case she fell in love. So looks like she can just come and enjoy the fun with us, without worrying.
