Need petsitting in Chester county, Pa 2 yorkies We are going on vacation early Monday morning 8/16 and I am really dragging my feet about them going to a boarding place. Although it is nice, it's still not home, ya know?? I have a 3 year old, very very laid back gentle sweet male, Toby, and an 11 month sweetie pie male, Baxter. Would anyone in our area be up for a petsitting adventure?? Also, has anyone on here gone away for a week and had petsitters come into the home 3 times a day? How did that go? It just seems like lesser of two evils. I'd love some feedback!! Thanks!! Nanci |
Hi Nanci I always use petsitters when I travel. I have used petsitters that come into my home 3x a day but I found that I really like it when they stay here with the dogs. So now, I have petsitters that come in during the day and then they sleep over. With the exception of minor issues, I've found this to be the best option. My dogs are not stressed and they are not interrupted from their routines. You can find professional petsitters by visiting Napps: National Association of Professional Process Servers or Home. Usually these petsitters are insured and bonded. Good luck! Quote:

Thank you so much for heading me into the right direction. I worry about the boys being home alone at night. I feel so conflicted, and I know I'll worry about them the entire time. lol |
Nanci ~ Just curious, did you end up taking your guys to a kennel or getting a petsitter? I live in Morgantown and need to decide what to do with my little guy when we go away. Thanks! Tracy :) |
Yorkie sitter Hi, I just found this site and was browsing through my area and saw this post. Just wanted to put your mind at ease. I know it's an old post but there are good pet sitters around. I am a bit outside of your area (I live in Exeter Twnship)to help you out, but I have been pet sitting for close to 12 years now. I stay in the home and usually don't leave much since I am retired, maybe just to get food or stop home to see my husband once or twice a week. My little yorkie comes with me so no one is home to worry about. If you find someone like me to trust in your home, especially someone that already has a home, settled without children to care for, if they truly love animals you are set. What to stay away from are young people without there own place for obvious reasons, and feel free to ask me about questions to ask when interviewing. They should be willing to care for your home also, bring in mail, water plants, etc. Hope this helps, wish I were closer! Vicky |
