LP | Orthropedic Specialist Remy has been diagnosed with stage 2-3 LP in his right rear leg. It arose from a jumping related injury some months ago. It is surprising because after his injury he had full hip and leg xrays taken by his first vet, and I (purposefully) switched vets at that point, took his xrays to his NOW current vet and had him examined for a second opinion. My one question was whether he had LP or not. BOTH said no at that point in time. Currently he is lifting his leg and is occasionally lame, the vet says it is NOW LP:( The vet is Falls Road Animal Hospital and while they are highly regarded, I really want a second opinion. Any LP specialists or orthro specialist recommendations would be appreciated. |
You could try the vet specialists that my daughter takes her maltese to (she has cardiac problems). This practice has a number of different specialists there and everyone I met from the doctors, to nurses to the receptionists, was very kind and caring. It's called the Hope Center for Advanced Veterinary Medicine, located in Vienna, Virginia (northern VA). Below is their website: Welcome to The Hope Center for Advanced Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, Virginia You'd need the surgical practice in the group and here's their website: VSC: Veterinary Surgical Center - Doctor Anke Langenbach - Vienna, VA They list LP as one of the surgeries they specialize in. Good luck with your boy. |
Thanks very much for the suggestion, I will look into them further. Vienna is not that far from me, easy drive during the day. I could couple the trip with an excuse to swing by Tysons :) |
