Pittsburgh Area Yorkie mommies (and daddies) I am south of Pittsburgh and looking for a yorkie, where did you happen to come about yours? I am looking for a GOOD reputable breeder without having to travel too far (2 hours or so), I would rather get to "pick" our new family member and meet them for ourselves before adopting (no shipping~been there done that) Please let me know if you can help us :) I am even willing to take in a rescued or "needs home" yorkie. I have 2 cats and 3 children ages 11,10, and the youngest that is 4 :) |
Hello! I was looking for another thread and saw 'Pittsburgh'. I grew up in Washington and now live north, near Clarion. I am buying a yorkie tomorrow from one of my student's grandmas. I went to her house, she has the parents and grandfather, she really cares for and loves her pups! She was very knowledgable (I asked a lot of questions) and easy to talk to. Last I knew she had a male and female left. If you're interested she lives in Franklin, PA which would be probably about 2 hours from Washington (I don't knowwhere you're at so that maybe gives you an idea at least). PM me or reply to this if you want more info!! Take care! |
I wish I could give you a reference close by, but I don't know of one. Mine is a rescue, but the rescues I know of are all at least 3-4 hours away. Meantime, I'm looking forward to seeing other Pittsburghers post. It would be fun to do a meet at a park sometime. |
Go Steelers!!! I thought of naming my pup Polly after Polamalu or Steely, lol. No one liked those ideas though! :( |
I got my little GiGi from a breeder in OH. I know there is someone else on this website with another one of her pups. I didnt buy her from the breeder directly but I have spoken to her and she told me about her parents and litter mates. I was very impressed. GiGi is two and has no healthy issues. She is a little under 4lbs with a personality to die for. SO quiet and loving.. and CALM!! |
Questionable breeder near Pittsburgh Please be careful and watch if you purchase a pup around New Castle. I have had a bad experience, my pup has to have a femoral osteotomy. I know they are still breeding the parents, even though I have given all the information. Their place looks great, but I know they post close to statewide in newspapers. They do multiple breeds. So just a warning for the area:animal36 |
