My favorite Pictures of Duke 2 Attachment(s) Attachment 127821 Attachment 127822 These are my Favorite Pictures I have of Duke. I miss him so much. Thank you everyone for taking time to respond. Your kindness is wonderful. In Memory of My Duke of York. :rbyorkie: Dawn I ONLY WANTED YOU :fallen: They say memories are golden well maybe that is true. I never wanted memories, I only wanted you. A million times I needed you, a million times I cried. If love alone could have saved you you never would have died. In life I loved you dearly, In death I love you still. In my heart you hold a place no one could ever fill. If tears could build a stairway and heartache make a lane, I'd walk the path to heaven and bring you back again. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. |
he is adorable....I'm so very sorry for your loss. I hope your memories give you comfort and time heals your heart. |
Dear Dawn. Thank you for sharing the pictures of sweet Duke and the beautiful poem. Today is six months ago that my sweet Sophie crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Your beautiful poem helped ease the pain I am also feeling in my heart tonight. Bless you and he is the most beautiful little boy. He has the kind of face that you just want to kiss and hold close to your cheek. |
Thank you for you kind words. Does the pain lessen with time? I sure hope so. So sorry about your Sophie also. Quote:

My loss and feelings of loss is the reason I joined YT. Being here allows me and others to express our feeling without the need to apologize. I read the book "It's Okay to Cry" and wrote in a journal. Writing in the journal was so healthy for me. Also, this link http://www.indigo.org/rainbowbridge_ver2.html gave me hope that I will be with Sophie again. Take good care and so sorry that you are experiencing this in your life. Warmly, Deborah |
Thanks for sharing your pictures, your memories and your love of Duke. I am so terribly sorry for your loss, he was much too young, and oh so beautiful. I hope my Spencer was there to greet him on the other side, I'm sure he was...he too was such a good boy...they'll get along just great, he's been gone for over 3 years now...and sometimes it still seems like just yesterday. I miss him, as you miss Duke... |
The pain does lessen, but the special love never fades. I knew Shorty's illness was terminal and chose to get another pup (Otis) while he was still alive. For about 6 months after he passed, I would be fine and laughing and the next thing you know I was sobbing for my lost baby, Shorty. He's been gone about 3 years. He was 8 when he died. I tried to remember all the fun we had and what a wonderful life we gave each other. I kept his collar and tags. Otis gave me lots of healing love, I think I felt like he was a part of Shorty although they weren't related, he definately comforted me. We're here for you, whenever you need to talk about Duke or are having a bad day. I'm tearing up just writing this. Its amazing how strong our love is for our dog babies. |
What a beatiful poem. Thank you for sharing it and the pictures. |
Duke was such a precious yorkie! My heart goes out to you and your family. I wish I had words to heel, but only time can take away the sadness. Duke will forever be in your heart, Hold onto his memories dearly! |
Ohhh. So so sorry about Duke. He was a real cutie. I'm sure he will be very happy and grinning from the Rainbow Bridge as you welcome your newest family member. :) |
