RIP Maggie... She wasnt a yorkie, she was a beagle/lab mix. If Im not supposed to post on here about her, Im sorry. I just need to let it out. I miss her soo much. She was my best friend growing up. I got her when I was 8 and Im now 21. We had to put her down in December. December 3 to be exact. So its been a little over 4 months and I still have not been able to move on, not even a little bit. She was a family dog, my new yorkie Riley is my baby, well Maggie was more like a sister. No one understands why I am still hurting so much over her loss. Every time I go over my parents house Im waiting for her to greet me at the door wagging her tail and she's just not there. Just so many things remind me of her. She was truely one of a kind, she had a lab's amazing personality and a beagle's adorable looks. I still just cant believe she's gone. She died looking at me with those little brown hopeless eyes. She was just so sick. We tried everything... steroids, antibiotics... she had a brain tumor. There was nothing we could do. We held on to her a month longer than we should and she went through several seizures have before we finally put her to rest. She looked so peaceful. God I miss her... Riley has a been a wonderful dog to me so far. He is 4 months old. Nothing like Maggie, which I think is a good thing, because I cant look at him as a "replacement". Thanks for reading... |
It takes a long time to grieve, and even when you think you've moved on it a reminder can surface. As time goes on it does get easier. It may be hard to see now but it will happen.Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.:sun: :sun: :sun: |
I am so very sorry about the loss of your Maggie. It's OK to cry and be sad about losing her. It's a very hard thing to go through. It does get easier as time goes on, though. You're in my thoughts! |
Kristen: " Hi " :wavey: Everyone grieves in their own way and length of time. I don't think 4 months is too long. Hang in there, you will feel better. It takes time. Little Riley even though he's can never replace Maggie, will help you feel better, by you growing more and more attached to him. :dog: :aimeeyork Take Care.... |
There will never be a replacement for the loss of a best friend and member of the family. There will be those who will help heal and become a new, different best friend and an added member of the family, but the special place in your heart that belongs to Maggie, will ALWAYS belong to Maggie. It's such a blessing that we have big hearts with many special places for many special furbabies. You have a lot of grieving ahead of you - use Reiley. Tell him about Maggie then give him a big hug and kiss. I'm sorry you lost your beloved Maggie. |
im so sorry sweetie, i pray god heals your wounds fast... rip baby |
Bless your heart, it doesn't matter what kind of animal it is they really become part of your family, and all the love they give is unbelievable....I know what your going through but just remember all the good times and all the great years you had together....:( |
its not at all innappropriate to post about Maggie. were here to help with whatever you need. im so sorry for your loss.... |
yorkie or not a loss is a loss. I'm very sorry for you. |
My thoughts and condolences. I'm so sorry you are missing her so badly. |
Losing a beloved pet is one of the hardest things I have ever gone through. When my first "mutt" died after 13 years, I actually resented other dogs for being alive. It took me years before I could even look at a picture of her. I have since had two other dogs - and have loved them just as much - though no two dogs are alike - you do love them just as much and for different reasons. You will move on and start remembering all the good times you had together - it just takes time - and everyone grieves differently. :hands: to you and everyone who loved and is missing your wonderful dog. |
Thanks for all the nice comments... its good to know there are people out there who understand what Im going through. Most of my friends have always had cats, so they dont understand what its like losing a dog! Ive got my Riley now, and that does help a lot. I know to cherish every moment with him!! |
The Heartache http://www.indigo.org/rainbowbridge_ver2.html I am sending you this link to the most wonderful site that has continued to help me since my beloved Sophie was pts on 1/23/07. Between thinking my heart would break, to knowing that I kept her alive longer than I should, guilt over seemingly every detail of her illness, and now acceptance as I look at her beautiful face in her photograph that she isn't sick or suffering. Continue to share your feelings because if you internalize them, the pain becomes too intense. Not everyone understands the feelings you are experiencing, but they are yours and very real. |
I'm sorry your suffering over the loss of your well-loved friend. I lost my 17 yr old poodle recently and I still cry over him. I probably will for a long time. Having those memories that make us cry is a blessing. It's OK to grieve. It's part of our life's journey and prepares us for the next difficult time. The pain will eventually get less and the memories will be sweeter.:) |
i hate it when people tell you or expect you to be over the death so easy... its not like that. its IS loosing a family member, people who arent 'dog lovers' dnt get the same attachment we do.... all of us here know what its like. thinking of you... dont apoligse for the way your feeling. xxx |
