We lost our Baby
 
I just wanted to post the pasting of our 16 year old cat today. She has been failing for the past few days and today she stopped eating and drinking and could barely stand. Thank God we didn't have to go to the er our vets are on call 24/7. It was very peaceful and I beleive she was very comfortable. It was a very hard thing to do but we know it was the right thing. Baby was her name and she was my daughter's cat, we got her right before Christmas 16 years ago when my daughter was only 1 1/2 years old. She is having a hard time dealing with the loss of her Baby, we all are. I know time will heal and knowing that she is not in any pain helps. Baby was diabetic with a heart murmur and her little body had enought so now she is a angel. My little Peanut loved her, he always kissed her face. We all loved her RIP my Baby.

I lost a cat that I had 17 years, and know well how it leaves a big hole in your heart. Many prayers for you and your family through this.

My 13 year old cat started failing very similar to your story and 2 days later we made the decision to put her down. That was almost 5 years ago and I still miss her!

May your darling cat rest in peace and may time heal your daughter's heart.

Thank you to everybody for the kind words. It doesn't seem real I keep looking for her. I know she is in a better place and time will help us all.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your cat. :( My sister has a 16 year old cat. It's so sad when our pets get older and pass away. Knowing that we will see them again is comforting. Rest in Peace dear kitty cat. :cat:

Here is a picture of Baby on Christmas morning playing with her catnip toy. I do thank God that she went down quickly and we were able to spare her pain. I just thought it would be nice to post a picture in her memory.

i know exactly how you and your daughter are feeling... i was living on my own as my parents had moved and i was just waiting for the school year to be over before i moved and i had our cat for 12 years and i had to make the decision to put her down.. i was lucky to have an uncle to bring her in for me... but i remmeber having to say good bye to her and it broke my heart like nothing else... i feel for the both of you.. time will heal and until then tears help :) praying for your heart to heal.

Vicki I'm really sorry. I lost my cat about five years ago. He was 19 years old if you can believe it. I rescued him when his mom was hit by a car. He was near death. Had to have one eye removed due to infection but never missed it as he was so young. When I got married hubby wasn't a cat lover but when we had to put Slinky down at 19 after he had a stroke my big New York City Police Officer husband cried like a baby. He cried so hard they had to take us out the back way. We had him cremated and he now sits in our curio. I know how tough it is. Hang in there. Elaine

im so sorry for your loss :(

i know how you feel my little baby 4 year old cat had liver deciese sp? over night and she passed at the vet this was 2 years ago its still very hard
your cat looks very simular to my casiey ur baby is just darker
casiey was brownies best friend hes still looks for her under the bed

we have an 18 & 19 year old in the house now

Im so sorry for your loss! That is the one thing about our babies that is the hardest to accept, that their little lives are just not as long as ours! Im glad you had 16 long years of happiness though! Take care!
