Thinking of our Bandit
 

Hey little Bandit, you have been on my mind so much this week. I'm sure you know we are getting ready to celebrate Tucker and Megan's birthday on the 8th. It's loads of fun, but I can't stop thinking that Saturday is also the one year anniversary of when we got you! I think about Daddy holding you in his arms, saying "I want this one". I argued with him saying you were not a dog, you were a rat in a dog suit. He handed you to me and it was instant love! You used to strut around the house like you were the king. (Of course you were!) I remember how if anyone came over to you you immediatly rolled over for a belly rub. You could lay there and get a belly rub for hours. Everytime I sat in "your" chair you would climb on the back and lay on my head. How can 4 pounds of trouble become such a big part of our lives in only a month? Every picture we have of you someone is holding on to you so we could take it. You never sat still for a second. I look at your picture on the shelf with that awful bow. It was your first trip to the groomer. I kept saying boys don't get red bows! But you sure did look adorable. Who knew you'd be gone 4 days later? I miss you Bandit. Daddy still has your color and tag hanging from his mirror in his car. I hope you are having fun at Rainbow bridge. I know you are not in pain anymore, and that helps to accept that you are gone. So, while we are singing happy birthday and passing out the doggie ice cream on Saturday, just know I'll be taking a moment to remember something else wonderful that happened on April 8th...we got you! Love and miss you little man!

Aww Teri you have me in tears! I am so sorry!

I am sorry for your loss. But just think of him playing with all the otehr dogs that have gone on also. Not much help I know but I am sure he is having a blast.

Somehow forever doesn't last nearly as long as you think it will, does it Teri. Remember what John Edwards said....Bandit's there, just waitin' for you ;)

How sweet and what a nice tribute. I'm sorry for your heartache, I'm sorry for everyone who has to go through this.

I don't very often come to this page and now I remember why. That was beautiful Terri, it really doesn't get a lot easier does it? I lost Tori in August / 05 after 12 1/2 yrs. I still sometimes forget she's gone and then the pain is fresh again. I'm glad you have Tucker, I'm sure he really helps. I know Gypsy is a big comfort to me. :love: Will be thinking of you and your family.

Oh Teri..that was beautiful and he hears you.....I just know he does ...What a special tribute to Bandit...Big hugs to you and Megan and your family...He was lucky to have you in his short life.

Teri, That was a beautiful tribute for Little Bandit. He knows how much you guys love him and miss him ,that is why he sent you Tucker. You think is a coincidence that Tucker's birthday is April 8th, I think not. Please know that you both were bless to had each other. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Thanks all. You never really "get over" it. I think it just isn't the main focus of your days after time. But when you stop to think about it...bam it hurts just as bad. We did love him. And he did send us Tucker. Sorry for making some of you cry. For me, they are tears of gratitude that we had that little monkey in our lives for the short time we had him. He changed my life, and I love him! I'm just so greatful that I have a place where I can write about him when I feel the need. It has been a tremendous help to our healing.

I feel for you. We lost Reggie on Tuesday and she left us with 5 baby girls eight days old to care for. You have my deepest sympathy. :lovewings

aww Teri.... I am so sorry you have to relive this day.. Hope Bandit is doing ok in the rainbow bridge.
