Ivy Lucille 1 Attachment(s) I don't come to this section of the board often because it is just so sad. But today I was compelled to as this is the 4th anniversary of my beloved Ivy Lucille's passing. She was my first yorkie and for years I thought would be my last. The grief was so much more than I have ever had for an animal. She was my "first child" due to years of infertility so in essence I suppose I was mourning the loss of my child. It cut deep for a long time. I celebrate my Mayzie now but I can't tell you how many times I have called her Lucy---even after 4 years of not having Lucy. For those of you who have recently lost a furbaby, it does get better. I brought Mayzie home in Feb. and since I have had her, I can now bear to look at Lucy's pictures, her first haircut clippings, her baby teeth...the one thing I still avoid is the snip of hair I cut the last day of her life. Enough sadness though... I want to celebrate Lucy's life today. This picture was taken 2 days before her passing. She looks like she is in prison or a cage but she is actually outside on our porch. For some reason that day she walked on the outside of the porch railing. She had never done that before. I love and miss you Lucy! |
This is such a beautiful and touching post. I too lost my first Yorkie, so I can relate to your pain. I am so happy that Mayzie has helped you to heal. Lucy was just lucky to have such a wonderful mommy, like yourself. |
It is so hard to lose one of our beloved babies. I am sorry for your loss and happy you found another one to share your love with. |
Lucy Yes, you are right, it is time to celebrate Lucy's life. Yorkies love their humans so much, Lucy would want you to look at her photo's and tell Mayzie what a wonderful companion she was..afterall the greatest tribute to any dog, is to get another dog and love it like the lost one...I am sure Lucy would want Mayzie to be loved as much as you loved her...and I know she is...best wishes |
She was beautiful! Thanks for letting us share in your celebration of her life. I know it is still painful for you and hope your memories bring more happiness than sorrow. |
What a beautiful picture to remember Lucy! She had such pretty coloring. I am so glad you've found your little Mayzie to bring you comfort and fill your life again with yorkie blessings. Rest in peace, Lucy, for you are very loved! :rose: |
Your post really got to me, as I just lost my little "Maggie" (cairn terrier) this past September. I truly understand... I shy away from this forum for obvious reasons, but for some reason, I read your post. I want to share in your celebration of Lucy's life. I'm glad that you have your Mayzie now and that things are a little easier. Hugs to you... |
