Oh guys, it's awful.....I really appreciate your posts. I am being mother hen'd by hubby and dd who keep "checking" on me. Oh, they loved him too, but they know who loved him most...he was my constant companion. I know hubby feels guilty cause he knew he was under the covers....he's told me it's gone over in his mind a dozen times what we "should've" done to prevent this. And maybe we couldn't have done anything different.....sigh.....sure wish I could turn back time.

I would give anything to be able to take away your pain. Only time can do that, and even then you will always have this place in your heart where things are not the same. We went through this 10 months ago with Bandit and I know what your are going through. Please tell hubby not to beat himself up. I doubt that he suffocated, he wouldn't have just peacefully stopped breathing like it seems that he did. He would have been fighting under there enough to wake you if he was suffocating. This is a terrible tragedy, and not anyone's fault. Take your time mourning him, he was your baby! I did not get out of bed for 2 days when Bandit died, and I realized afterwards that that was the best thing I could do for myself. Trace is ok, but you and hubby have to take care of each other. I pray that soon you will be able to think of him with happy memories. I know right now you don't believe that could ever happen, but it will. You are in my thoughts and I will say an extra prayer for your family today.

Deb, Im so sorry for your loss. What a tragic accident. :cry: I will have you and family in my thoughts and prayers. RIP Trace, :littleang . We are here for you. :hug:

What an empty feeling you must have right now. I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. That time truly is a great healer, and that friends are a strong tonic that lessens the pain. Give yourself time to heal, and lean on your friends when you are ready. They love you deeply.

Deb, We had a yorkie that slept under the covers with us for years. I don\'t believe that is what caused her death. I know it\'s painful, but please find comfort in the fact that she died peacefully. If she had suffered you would have felt her fighting.

We are so very sorry and know the heart ache you, your hubby and dd are going through, oh how I know what you mean in wishing we could turn back time, it is hard to give back one we love. God has a special place for them and so we must think of not loosing them but giving them back to HIM. What a precious gift they are to us. Our Cassie took a part of my heart with her and I can honestly say I feel her with me all the time, cause part of our hearts went with her. Please know, we pray that God will give you comfort. We did get another yorkie puppy and she is really helping us cope better, and her name is so fitting she really has became a Blessing to us, there isn\'t a day that goes by that I don\'t cry and miss Cassie but all we can do is be thankful for the joy of having her for the years we did, and treasure the wonderful memories.
