Chester is gone I just wanted to let everyone know that I have lost Chester he was 16 last month and he had done pretty well with his heart failure he started having problems when we were in California took him to the vet got meds is creatinine was up. I took him to my vet twice got Sub-Q fluids cerenia some flagyl. I went to another vet on Saturday and she noticed he had a bad tooth and thought maybe his kidneys was bad from his creatinine that she had drawn which is now up to 9.5 quite a jump in 2 weeks. I has also had him on a phosphorus binder for increased levels there. She wanted to do fluids for 24 hours and recheck is creatinine and see how he done he was still 7.5. She says his kidneys was probably 75% gone he had quit eating I was giving him goat's milk Flagyl and case it was a stomach issue appetite stimulant. I had done everything I possibly could for him he had the best of everything. She was wondering if I wanted another 24 hours of fluid or to take him home and I said no he was tired and he was worn out and he wasn't eating and he had lost weight I done what was best for him I miss him so much he was such a good dog we had probably 300K together. |
I'm so sorry for your loss.. Your are a great mom and Chester had a long and a wonderful life by your side. Let your heart heal by thinking he is pain-free now and running around somewhere with other furbabies. |
So sorry for your loss, these babies leave such an impact on us. You did all you could for him, it was time to give him the greatest gift of your love of him, to free him of his pain. Try to take comfort knowing baby Chester is now pain free, running and playing at Rainbow Bridge. (((hugs))) |

I'm so sorry you've lost Chester. Sixteen years is a long time to love and care for such a wonderful buddy. But he's out of pain, old age and fear and moved on as all sweet babies must. The hole left in your heart will take time to heal. Please accept my sincere condolences and ,Chester, rest now. |
No matter how long our beloved companions it is never long enough! Your heart is broken, some describe a hole others empty heart. Take all the time you need for tears and grief, and also welcome in those happy memories. Now did I read it right you travelled over300km with Cheste r? If so wowed! My heart goes out to you and yours |
Chestermama, I am so sorry for your loss. We recently lost our Golden Retriever "Sunny Boy" at the age of 18yrs. I completely know how you are feeling. We are still heartbroken. We have decided to get a little yorkie as it will travel better with us when we taken the 5th wheel or airplane to go on trips. I am sure that Chester was a great pup and one that you will always have great memories of. Again I am so sorry for you loss. Ron |

Chester Dear Chestermama, I loved your posts about your happy times with sweet Chester. Im so sad to read he has passed on. I am a firm believer that dogs go to heaven and will be there for us. Our Creator gave them to us and He knows how much we love them. Chester is with my Teddy and Spud. All dogs are precious and you take comfort in knowing Chester had a life filled with love. He is waiting for you in a beautiful paradise. Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has entered into the heart of man the things that God has prepared for them who love Him! 1Corinthians 2 verse 9 |
Such a sad time for you. Chester was well loved and cherished for 16 years , rip little man. |
I'm new on here but I feel your pain, I had a female Cassie who was struggling with diabetes, pancreatitis, and heart murmur, I never thought a 8 pound dog would bring me to my knees but now I know. She was me and my wife's little baby girl, she was 11. I'm so sorry for your loss,I just want you to know your not alone. |
I am so sorry for your loss ❤️ |
Thank you, one of the main reasons I came on this blog was to hope to find someone who doesn't breed their Yorkies to be a money machine. Me and my wife have discussed it and we honestly believe a lot of the complications diabetes, pancreatitis, etc. Stems from over breeding,or inbreeding.I would really like to get another female Yorkie but I feel I would be betraying Cassie, we still have her husband Louie and one of their sons Porky.Let alone being afraid of going through all the complications we went through with Cassie. |
Never having yet experienced this, I guess when it's time it's time. I think it's awesome the lil guy made it 16 whole years! But I'm SO sorry he's gone. Wish there were more I can say or do. :( |
Chester and I had traveled over 300,000 miles together he was such a great Traveler I'm missing so much I don't think my heart will ever be the same again he was the love of my life |
