So sorry You are not truly alive till you have loved a pet! I feel your pain! We lost both of our furbabies this past Dec. 3 weeks apart. Bully died of a broken heart he needed to be with Rocky. I am glad he loved him more.. but I cry as I write. I miss them something awful!!! I can not understand why anyone would just say "a dog", "a cat". No part of the family, a child if you may. I agree with the fact you will never forget, it will get easier, love never ends!!! In my thoughts..... |
Oh my god, that is so sad! I'm so so so SO sorry to hear that. And at 2 years old as well - that's so young! It's practically a puppy. :( I know it's no consolation but just think of what a happy little life she had! And all the good times you shared. And right now lovely Isabella is 'up there', chewing away to her heart's content on a sirloin steak and you'll see her again someday! And - sorry for the language - but I'd tell the family member who criticised your grief for Bella to f*ck right off! When you get a dog it instantly becomes a part of your family, and if it doesn't then you don't deserve to have a lovely little doggy. Dogs love you unconditionally and your love for them should be the same. Your grief for Bella is not 'over the top' AT ALL, it just shows what a devoted owner you are! Lots of love! xxxx |
I am so sorry all that happened to you in a short time Joan. Also I am glad God gave you Cody. You were able to all that had to be done by the grace of God. It is a good thing that vet was so persistent. Today I realized that those of us who grieve with a heavy heart over our beloved baby's can say for sure that we're not selfish in anyway, for you can't be selfish and love the way we loved if we are grieving so hard. Your post have helped me cope. |

You are right about the child factor. For me it's even more so, since I have never been blessed with finding a husband, or having children. I have given those dreams up since I am nearing 40 and no prospects on the horizon. So my little paws are my little pitter patters. Bella was my sunshine. |
I am so sorry to hear about your sweet Isabella:( Sending hugs your way!! |
Thank you Rhondah. It feels a little better having her cremains here at home. Yet I still am crying over her loss. Can't walk by a photo of her without kissing it either. |

I am so very, very sorry you lost both babies 3 weeks apart, how devastating for you. I had to put my baby of 16 years down Oct. 1 2013, that was over whelming for me, to loose 2 babies 3 weeks apart had to more then devastating to you. My heart goes out to you |
I am sorry to hear this, you have every right to show your grief and good that you do. I have always said that those that don't understand the love of a dog have missed something very precious in their life. My heart and prayers are with you. RIP little Bella:animal-pa |

Thank you for the kind words. I still miss and grieve for her. The pain doesn't seem to be letting up at times. I just think of how she loved spring and summer. I know she's up there enjoying the warmth right now. |
