My baby Benji
 
Hi everyone, I'm new here. I just wanted to share about my baby Benji who passed away a few weeks ago on July 31st. It was right before my birthday. He was 10 years old. We were really shocked by it. We weren't prepared to say goodbye to him. It's been really rough. But we're trying to find a new puppy to bring home.

I'm so sorry about your loss of Benji. There is no way to prepare yourself for losing a much loved member of your family, even when they are older, but I agree that an unanticipated loss is very difficult to bear. I never thought I could love another little one like I loved my first Yorkie, Jolie. But Ashley, who lived to be almost seventeen, and her two sisters, Kiwi and Gracie, proved to me that I was very wrong. Our Katie joined our family fifteen months ago after two lonely years without a dog in our lives. I can't tell you just how much she has uplifted our spirits and enriched our lives. I hope you find your puppy and he/she helps to heal your broken heart.

I'm so sorry for sweet Benji. My oldest is almost 10 & I can't imagine she's anywhere near the end of her life. I'm sure this is hard on you. May I ask why he died?
I hope you'll enjoy the search for a new baby.

Condolences to you and I'm so sorry to hear about Benji. Our pups just grow to be some of our best friends in this world, and it's so hard to say goodbye when time seems like it flies by so quickly with them. I'm glad to hear you're looking for a new friend, as raising a sweet little pup can really help one deal with the grief (though I don't think the grief will ever be gone for my girl Minnie).

Benji must be running with my Teddy Peanut Bear! He passed away at 10 yr old too. He just was lethargic and fell over so I rushed him to the emergency vet. She said he had a stomach obstruction. I don't know what it was. I miss him so much just like you miss your little one. Be careful when you pick out another Yorkie. I got JoJo and he is a major handful. I love him but he can be trouble. That dog has a temper and every so often has a meltdown! Imagine! He is cute and that is why God made him cute, so I would love him no matter what!
