my dear miss Brandy had passed on
 
Miss Brandy started her life as a sick pup..I got her at a petshop and what can I say...I did everything I could to keep her well and it took almost.a year to do so and we finally beat the odds.. So I thought.. Brandy lived to be almost two years and on May 30th she passed away unexpectedly..my heart is so broken... I cry almost every day..my husband blaims his self.for Brandy death but their was nothing he could do... I want to remember her as a fighter because she came so far with her health...even though she was sick she always played n hung out with us.. In my heart I want to get another pup not to replace her but because I know I could give them a good life, a forever home...if anyone knows any breeder in NY,NJ or pittston PA please send me there info...I would give anything to have another bundle of joy here at home with me... I LOVE YOU BRANDY YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART, MY LOVE BUG,MY BRANDY GIRL...forever your mommy Rosalind

Just heartbreaking, especially when things happen so quickly. There probably isn't an hour of the day that goes by where I don't have both a happy and a sad memory of Minnie, even in my dreams. It sounds like you gave Brandy two incredible years, and in the end she was a huge winner in the game of life because of you and your husband. Those two years are more precious than anything money can buy (because it sure can't buy life). So mourn her passing and cry every bit as much as you guys need to, but also celebrate her life and the joy she brought you two in exchange for the joy you guys brought her, because you most certainly did. No pet shop was going to give her the life you did; be proud you were able to give Miss Brandy the loving life she so richly deserved.

Start a "Brandy's Way". Make tons of copies of puppy mill information and stand outside of pet shops (check to see how many feet you need to be away from the shop) and add Brandy's story (with picture) of her horrible beginnings and short little life and pass the flyers to people. You could put them up in pet stores that don't sell dogs, and anywhere there is a post it board.

Oh no. I am so sorry to hear of Brandy's passing. I so remember when you got her and how sick she was.

So sorry for your loss. You may even consider a rescue yorkie. I volunteer and foster for United Yorkie Rescue. Maybe you could help a little boy or girl that needs a home. Give it some time before you decide. Again, I am sorry for your loss and will say a prayer for you and your husband tonight.

I'm sorry your sweet Brandy has passed. May she rest in peace and you heal in time from this bad pain you are having. It really hurts to lose our special little friend and it hurts for so long. I hope and pray that you can one day find another little love like that when the time is right. Brandy would want you to know love like that again.

I want you all to know that since I got Brandy I put out a bad review on the petshop and all my neighbors stoped.shoppjng their...needless.to say they are now closed down...my friend told me they went out of business last year. Thank you for everyones support..its really funny how a little goes a long way..I miss her..I would like to adopt a rescue but all I see is on the.aspca web site their older pups but they dont match up well with small children..if anyone gets a.hit on a young pup up for adoption please let me know..thanks again everyone..hugs

So many of us know too well the pain that comes with such a loss. My heart aches for you.

I know you don't want to replace little Brandy, no pup could ever replace her - you just have love left in your heart to give and I think that is wonderful. There is a special little baby somewhere waiting for your love and I hope you find him or her soon.

I am so sorry for your loss, I know all to well about Pet stores puppies. My Daisy has had a lifetime of health issues:(

I never knew what a puppy mill was, I guess we all learn by our experiences. I am so sorry yours ended in such sorrow.

It is wonderful that you are also considering rescues. Please contact Yorkie911 as they have many wonderful dogs -- several of whom I met a few weeks ago at an adoption event. Good luck and I hope you find a baby that you and your husband can make a part of your family...

There are Yorkie rescues in your region. Someone on this thread is a member of one of them and offered to help you. You might want to look into that. There are many Yorkies that have had to be re-homed for various reasons. You won't find many Yorkies in your area shelter because many shelters will call a rescue as soon as they get a purebred dog in. The rescue will send someone to pick up the dog as soon as they can. A rescue can help the dogs with health issues and they are also much better at finding the right home for each individual dog. You may have to get on a waiting list but I really think it would take just as long to find a reputable breeder and get on a waiting list.

I'm sorry to hear Brandy died. That is really heartbreaking.
