I cannot say how sorry I am that you have lost your precious Minnie. I too know your pain and feel your sadness, sorrow and suffering. I lost my precious October on April 14th in a tragic way.

Our precious babies will never experience pain and hurt again - and for that I am thankful - but we sure experience the hurt and pain that comes from being left behind when they leave us. I am so sorry, I know exactly how you feel.

Our October was a rescue as well - she was 6 when we adopted her. We had her for a far too short 3.5 years - but those years were filled with the most amazing love. I can't explain how much I miss her.

I am so sorry and words cannot express my sadness for your loss.

Thank you for your well wishes. Minnie means so much to me and it still hurts deeply. I know it has barely been a week and a half but it feels like a year since I last got to hold her and feel her heart beat. I have so many amazing memories with her but they feel so far gone now.

I'm sorry about October; is that October in your avatar pic? Definitely a cutie!

I completely understand. I feel the same way about my October - it feels like its been a lifetime since I got to feel her fuzzy body and kiss her little black wet nose. I'd give anything to do it just one more time. So I understand what you mean about those memories feeling so far away. I get scared sometimes I will forget what she felt like. Its just so hard, so I truly understand how you feel.

Yes, that is October in my avatar. We kept her hair cut short. I miss her so much. Thank you for complimenting her, I thought she was the cutest thing ever. Of course, I think every little one is adorable.

It feels like a lifetime ago we lost her, yet it feels just like yesterday at the same time. Time is a strange thing. Its been a month and a half, but it still hurts so much. I will pray you can find comfort during this most difficult time. :(

I just had to share my favorite Minnie picture with my friend who loves dogs. She loved the picture of Minnie asking for a snack too. I like the one of her barking at the neighbors dog. She isn't afraid of anyone.

Haha, there was a lot of bite behind that bark. I saw her catch a bird one time and right when she caught it she snapped its neck in an instant. Another time I saw her dig her claws into the back of a cat her size and pull it down off the fence it was trying to climb to flee. Luckily I was able to run and get in between them to keep her from killing the cat; they both fell to the ground when she did that, so I had enough time. Minnie was crazy fast and athletic.

And in that photo where she's asking for a snack you can see the box of dog treats in the back left. When she wanted a snack she'd look at you, then look at the box of snacks. Then look at you, then look at the box of snacks. Look at you, look at the box of snacks. Then whimper, look at you, look at the box of snacks. Same thing a few times and then came the bark until you either gave her one or told her 'no snack', haha.

One of her favorite snacks was when we'd just take her bowl of dog food and throw the kibbles one at a time for her to catch in her mouth. She was really good at catching them too.

Yeah, she liked to jump almost as much as I did when I was her age (guessing somewhere between 10-14 years old).

Thank you for the picture comments. I loved Meika's long full coat, but now have her short because I got tired of brushing her 2 times a day, plus it is much cooler.

One of the funniest things I remember about Minnie: our living room we have a couch on one side next to the front door, then a reclining chair on the back wall and then a love seat next to that. Any time one of us would come home, Minne would jump on top of the back edge of the couch, run full speed over to the edge and then jump on the top of the reclining chair, then from there jump on the love seat, run to the edge, turn around, and repeat everything backwards to finish the lap. Then she'd run down to the floor and start jumping straight up over and over again, and of course we'd pick her up for kisses. God, I miss that so much.

Sometimes those memories make us smile and sometimes they make us cry.

How wonderful that you have such fond memories of your precious baby girl. I bet she's running around like crazy now without a fear or worry in the world.

Every story I hear makes me love Minnie a little more in love with her. I think running laps is a yorkie thing! Teddy loves to do that too!

So sorry to hear about Minnie Bear. What a sweet girl. I can't imagine how brokenhearted you are. She is so lucky to have a family who loves her so much and I know you will be together again someday.

We're still very heartbroken, but reading about everyone's Yorkies here helps a lot. Love the photos of Snickers from your album.

Yeah, the memories sure do that, don't they? My conscious mind knows what happened, but my subconscious still hasn't come to terms with it. For instance, Sunday I remember running into the other room when someone was eating some fast food because Minnie would always be at one's feet begging for a piece. I used to like to tease her when she did that by covering her eyes with my hand or giving her a hug when as she would try her damnedest to break free and run over to try to beg for food. Of course then I realized she has been gone 3 weeks when I got there. If I hear a sound resembling a light pitter-patter on the wood floor sometimes I'll turn my head, briefly thinking it's Minnie coming to say hi. Those kind of moments still make me sad.

I still remember how nuts Minnie went the last day of her life when I picked up some fried chicken. I knew she didn't have much time left and figured I'd try to make her last day a really happy one (just knew it was coming the day it did :( ). I took some good chunks of breast meat (lowest fat on the chicken) with no skin nor breading, and I fixed her that as her meal (we had to feed her small meals every 3 hours at the end). So then I went in the other room to finish my chicken (didn't want her going nuts over my food) and she just barked like crazy. So I saved her a little more at the end and she was just ecstatic getting her favorite meal in the world and then we took a nap for an hour or so before she had to use the bathroom again (we were giving her so many fluids she needed to pee about once every hour or two).

They're just such balls of energy when they're not sleeping. We loved to chase each other around the yard and even until the last week of her life she would sprint like hell when I told her it was time to go over to the cabinet and get a snack.

Never could take her to dog parks though, because Minnie was aggressive in the extreme with other dogs no matter the size.

Love the pics of Oli. But I had to go search for them to find them! Would love to see more if you ever do an album (would love to see some great shots of October too; just a beautiful yorkie who must have lit your life up the same way Minnie did mine).

I would like to do an album now that you mention it, it would be my first but I don't think it would be too hard. I have so many pictures of October, and each time I look at them I miss her more. She was and still is my precious baby girl. I know you feel the same about your Minnie Bear.

It is so hard without them, YT has helped me along the way. Love and hugs to you.

Thanks! Right back at 'cha Iluvalldogs! I don't want you to post the October pics if it's too painful. I just suggested it since posting Minnie's pics has helped me, especially since this nice site allows me to put captions with them.

I really like seeing the pictures of everyone's dogs, and it is nice to see the babies that go with all of the stories. Even though sometimes looking at pictures of lost loved ones is hard (ok, it's always hard) it helps us to process and remember. When I look at peoples pictures of their sweet pets, I can feel the love. You see the pets thru the owner's eyes. It's very special.

I love to see everyone's photos too. You are right, you really can see the love in each photo and each post. It's so nice to come to a place like YT where everyone has the same thing in common - the love for our fur babies.

Thank you, it's just how I feel. For me, when I hear the love and caring in people's stories about their dogs, it reminds me of how kind people are. I love hearing about Minnie, and October, I can relate so much. It's so easy to love our pets isn't it? I can't always put my finger on why it's so easy, but thank goodness it is. People can be more difficult (sometimes) but not dogs:)

Reading about everyone's dogs here... it's just really important to me. Outside of my family, you guys here on this forum are the only people I can talk to who truly understand how much I love and miss Minnie. I think most dog owners don't develop the kind of bond we all did with Minnie and you guys have developed with October, Oli, Teddy, Heidi, Kudos, Meika, Tiki, Miss Brandy ... just so many awesome dogs with awesome owners in this thread alone. Seeing shdyly's thread about whether Twinkie Dink needs a shave with the mirror photo, or Timbo's thread about how excited he is to pick Demo up really make me happy. They just bring a big smile to my face when I read them (ok, maybe I'm a bit envious of Timbo too, haha).

I was just thinking back to one of my favorite Minnie memories. July 4th may he been her favorite day of the year. We have a large fireworks show a couple of blocks from my house every July 4th, and one July 4th we were hanging out in the backyard. Of course the loud fireworks really freak the birds out, and they were just enough distraction for Minnie to go and catch one. She took it in the house and paraded around her kill to every room to show it off to everyone. Then she went and sat on the couch with her bird trophy to make sure we could all see it and get jealous. I ended up having to offer her some chicken to finally get her to drop the bird so I could throw it out, haha. Her love of chicken was so strong that she immediately forgot about the bird and never went looking for it again. Still, I think she learned a lesson, as next time she caught a squirrel she only brought back the little bone of the leg she was chewing on.
