Im So SAD!
 
I am new to YT and we just got a new puppy, Scout. I had posted pictures of him and we were so excited! He was our 2nd yorkie. We had him for 1 week and 2 days and he died of heart failure. He was 10 weeks old. Words can't even express how my family and I feel. I have not stopped crying and it has been a week. My kids really want to get another puppy right away and I am not sure. I have been looking for them but I am so afraid to make a step forward. We miss you Scout you were such a sweet, good little boy :(

My prayers are with you. This is so sad that he died at such a young age. Was he sick? It will take time but maybe you will have room in your heart for another baby.

That is so sad and such a short time with him. But puppy kisses can help you heal even faster. He will never be forgotten but don't deny yourself the love a dog gives to a family. You will know when the time is right . Again so sorry for your loss

Thank you all for your prayers and kind wishes. It is so comforting to have found another family here at YT. I don't know what I would do without all your support. I have been so afraid to get another puppy and my kids really want me to. Many friends here on YT gave me names of some reputable breeders and I think we might look this weekend.

I am so sorry to hear about Scout. I had one pas after I had her 5 weeks and it was so sad. The breeder gave me Roxie shortly after and it helped having a puppy to heal our hearts a little.

I am so sorry about your baby. What a tragedy and so young. As far as another puppy, everyone and everyone's situation are different. After I lost my first baby at 13yrs. I waited 3mo. to get another one. After the 2nd and she was my baby girl, I went within 2 days and got another puppy. I did not want to go through the agony and hurt and crying for months like I did with the first. It help. Actually helped alot but at times I think I really needed to mourn her death and get everything out. Even now, I will break down and cry over her and its been 3yrs. Everyone has to do what is best for them and I hope for the best for you. I know how hard it is. It feels like a piece of your heart torn out. RIP little Scout, you are deeply missed and loved.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear about your precious baby, Scout. That is so sad. Thank goodness, he found his way to such a loving family before his little life ended much too soon. A new puppy helps mend a broken heart....I know...over Thanksgiving, I lost my precious Vivi, at 6 years old, due to liver shunt. I was heartbroken and basically, despondent for several days. I found my new puppy, Bear, and brought him home right after New Years....he has been a blessing to my entire family. He will never replace Vivi but instead has created his own place in our hearts and lives. Many hugs to you and your children, may your pain lesson with time.

My deepest sympathies to you and your children. What a sad and devastating experience for you all. God bless the new puppy angel Scout. I think that a new puppy would help the children and you move on from the loss of Scout. Yorkie kisses have a magical healing power.

I'm sorry about the loss of your baby, Scout. It's amazing how instantly these babies steal your heart. I hope your hearts heal and that your family can love another little one. Each baby touches us in a different way, and one can not replace another. A new little one will bring back the smiles and laughter when you are ready to love again. I wish you comfort, peace, and much love.

I am sorry to hear about Vivi too. Scout had heart failure. This was one of my biggest fears was to have any congenital problems. I even asked the breeder about the line, asked about liver shunts...I miss him so much!

I understand your fear....I was terrified I would fall in love with another puppy only to discover them sick with liver shunt. I researched and interviewed breeders before choosing Bear. I decided to go for the robust and active puppy and then I had him tested via Bile Acid Tests as soon as he was old enough. My vet and i cried on the phone when he called to tell me he was fine....after so many years of devastating phone calls with bad news, the good news was emotional. Congenital issues are difficult but I just had to believe that it wasn't going to happen again....of course, I did all I could on my end to find a good breeder with health histories of her line to share and an excellent health contract. I wish all the best and when it is time, you will find that beautiful and loving puppy.....someone said above and I agree, puppy kisses can heal the worst of broken hearts.

I am sorry you lost your baby. Have you contacted the breeder about this ? You should deff contact the breeder as you should either get a Full refund or a replacement pup from the breeder. I don't know if there are puppy lemon laws in your state but it's deff something to look into. Not that your baby is replaceable but it would be the rite thing for the breeder to do. Again I am sorry for your loss.:(

We did contact the breeder... but because the drs said the only way to determine a congenital heart defect would be electronically and Scout passed so fast and they couldn't. So, when we told the breeder this they said they didn't understand. In our contract it stated the only way for a refund would be for a congenital problem. We wouldn't accept another puppy from them even if they offered (which they didn't). At this point we just want to put it all behind us and we are being VERY cautious about finding another breeder. Everyone on YT has been SO Helpful.

I'm just wondering what else besides a congenital defect would cause a 10 week old pup to pass from heart failure & I would deff be discussing All other case scenarios with my vet as if it was something in the environmental, you really need to know Before you get another pup as if there is something in your house or yard that could have caused this then you need to rectify the problem/danger before exposing another pup to it.

I am so sorry for your loss. I hope your heart is able to heal... No other puppy will ever replace him, but I think another puppy might help you heal.
