i am so very sorry for your loss. my heart breaks for you. this story hits close to home for me. i lost my furbaby nika this past august to a very similar situation, in her case it was ruled to be pancreatitis but it all happened so fast that we are not 100% sure that was it. bloodwork and a previous case of pancreatitis did mostly confirm it though. they also ruled out parvo and some other viruses. she went from a healthy, happy 6.5 year old yorkie and slipped away within 30 hours of becoming ill. i have her mother, zowi who is about to turn 10 years old this jan 21st and she was just as devastated as i was. i dont know how i would've made it through losing nika if it wasn't for having zowi. it took me a while to be able to share nikas story on here as well, but i am very grateful i did. there are so many supportive wonderful people on here! i have such a great bond with my girls. nika especially never wanted to be away from me and it has been so hard not having her around. i am very grateful for the short time i spent with her and i am so lucky that i had such a special little angel nika touch my heart. i understand what you're going through. i'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers through this difficult time. sending you a hug. here's nikas story... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/mem...-my-heart.html

I'm so sorry to hear about your sweet Nika, it is very similar to my Chanel's situation, we believe that Chanel got a hemorrhagic necrotizing pancreatitis, I never really noticed any symtoms on her for she has always been healthy except for her being a picky eater but we always thought that this was just her habbit of eating since she was a puppy, we would sometimes joke about this since Chanel was my older daughter's dog, we would tell her "see Chanel is just like her owner, she eats like a bird" and then when my son got our morkie Polo who loves to eat so much we were jokingly teasing them how they pick up their owners habbits. Polo misses Chanel as much as we do, I can see it in his eyes, they were always together and he wonders around looking for her, thank God for his daughter Coco Chanel, she keeps his mind busy by being so playful and they both snuggle together like her mommy did with Polo. Coco misses her mommy too, the first couple of weeks I had to put her food on my hand and feed her for her mother Chanel had this habbit of putting the puppy food in her mouth and then would drop it in front of her little girl to eat it. It was a beautiful bond that they had and she was a wonderful mother to Coco Chanel.

so sorry for the loss of your baby..I lost my 11.5 year old yorkie yesterday so suddenly and it hurts so much its not even funny

the vet said that a lot of times with them being older like she was that by the time we notice something is really wrong with them they have about 25 percent of their kidney's funtioning..she said that was the most common number and something about old age..by the time she gave me the whole rundown....I was crying and sobbing so bad it was just awful.

I knew that she was getting older and around christmas she got sick and I swore nutro dog food was the demons spawn...and put her on dick van pattens dog food that was gluten free and she was doing fine on that...nice stools life was amazing to me if my baby was doing fine.

My guess things were starting to shut down and we were unaware of what the vet called underlying problems.

I am so sorry for the loss of your baby. Believe me it is one of the most devastating things to go through. The 1 year anniversary is coming up for my beloved Keally and I still cry . I wake up at night just seeing her at the vet when we had to put her down. I have tears now reading your post. Please think of the wonderful times and remember you were a great furbaby mom. It takes a long time to heal and you will never forget your furbaby. She is probaby with my dear Keally now and all the other fur babies enjoying their new friends til we can be with them oneday. so sorry again about sweet little Chanel. i know how much you miss her and how painful it is to go through losing her. it has been almost 5 months since nika passed away and it doesn't seem to get any easier. but i am beginning to focus on the happy times i am so thankful that i got to spend with her instead of focusing on her being sick. i am so glad chanel will live on in Coco Chanel and i'm so glad you have her to bring you comfort and help each others hearts heal. i'm sure chanel and nika are in great company with all the other little fur-angels at rainbow bridge and we will be together again. we adopted a 4.5 month old female yorkie puppy in october, pixie, and it did take a little time, but zowi absolutely loves her and enjoys her playfullness. she mothers her like she did with nika now. there's nothing like a puppy to cheer ya up. she will never take the place of our precious little baby nika, but zowi and i love her in a different but very strong way and she smiles she smile. keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, take care.

keeping you in my thoughts and prayers coming up on the anniversary of losing sweet little keally. my heart goes out to you because i still wake up in the night seeing nika having a seizure next to my bed and rushing her to the e.r. it was the worst night of my life and it is so heartbreaking to see our little loves in pain and ill. just remember, they are no longer in any pain and now they are watching us from above as our little fur-angels. the happy times outweigh the others by far and those are the memories to focus on. sending you a hug
