See you again over the Rainbow Stitch I just got an email from my good friend last night that she had just lost her furbaby Stitch. Please keep my friend & her baby Stitch in your prayers; that she might get through this difficult time with ease. I'm not quite sure what happened. Last I spoke to her, Stitch was in perfect health and she lost him during his neutering surgury. Here's what she wrote me. Maybe someone will have some suggestions on what might have happened to Stitch. Today November 1, 2005 stitch, our dog was scheduled for surgery to be neutered, the vet also thought it was wise to remove several teeth, they had him under anastesia for supposedly two hours prior , stitch is only about 3 ounces and the teeth taken out were huge. stitch got the teeth removed and was moved in to another room and was being prepped for surgery and he went into cardiac arrest. he later died before mark and i got there. stitch's blood work was fine , lungs and heart fine. if anyone wants to comment or shed some light on what we should do, email us back. this was at greenwich ct animal hospital where i don't recommend u to take your pets. christina I understand that she is upset, I do not know of this animal clinic personally, so this is in no way to flame this particular clinic. I'm just relaying word for word her email to me. :littleang |
That is so horrible. She will definitely be in my thoughts at this horrible time. Hopefully they will be able to find something out so she won't always be wondering why it happened. Again I'm so sorry. |
OMG.. that is all of our worst nighmares! I think that sound like an awful long time to be under, for one so little! I'm so sorry for her loss. |

ANy ideas to what might have happened to poor Stitch or what my friend should do? |
OMG what a sad day ...A friend on another site just lost HER female to birth complications ....the puppies and mom were just fine then boom...she lost the mom this morning. I've been so upset all afternoon hearing about her pretty little girl and then this... This is so sad.... and please give your friend a hug from Houston...that must be so devestating for her. |
2 hours under anesthesia prior a surgery is impossible . |
I totally agree with Diego! Someone was not paying attention. I have been in on surgery's where almost every tooth was pulled and the dog was spayed (which takes longer than a nueter) and it has never been over an hour. I can not imagine a puppy this age needing that much dental work (2 Hours My Foot). If the teeth were that rotten they would have come right out. I would also want to ask what anthestia they used. Many vets are not experienced with little dogs and do not use Isoflorine. Cindy & The Gang :aimeeyork |
