It's so true that it's so hard to understand why we lost her when we did. I knew from the first day we got Pumpkin that if there's one thing she would teach us (and she did), it's that love for another life is the most powerful thing on this earth. And we felt the same way again when we got Patrick. It was so powerful, that every day we got home from work and my wife and I would want to go eat out, we would have this tug to just stay home and spend time with them. Everywhere we went and left them at the house, that love made us want to come right back home. We always wished we could bring them everywhere with us because we always wanted to be with them.
My wife unfortunately never had a job on a computer where she had time to use the internet like I do, so she didn't have a chance to visit yorkietalk and hear about Rainbow Bridge. When she saw it mentioned here though, it brought tears to her eye. So did your story Sunnie. We both cried for your little one, especially the thought of Sunnie watching for her at Rainbow Bridge. And our hearts go out to everyone who has lost a beloved Yorkie. Knowing what we are going through, I'm so sorry for everyone who has gone through this as well.
One thing I have to say though, is that I'm so proud of our little boy Patrick. We were so worried about him being depressed, but he has been our little inspiration. We can tell he has moments where he misses his sister, but he's been eating, barking at dogs next door, loving on us, and we played so much with him yesterday. He was so hyper, I had him running around the house with his toy he loves us to chase him with. Our local vet who set us up with the LSU facility, told us he just lost a pet 2 weeks ago. He told us something that I always knew and it's so true; that we could learn a lot from them because they are SO resilient. I keep looking to Patrick for that resilience, because it makes me think if he can be our strong little man at this time, I can be strong as well.
Thanks again to everyone for their thoughts and prayers and for all of your thoughtful replies. My wife and I appreciate it so very much. |
