10 Thank-yous Lexi
 

It's been a month since me and Jon lost her.. I was going to write about her two days ago, but it was so depressing.. So I decided to thank her 10 times (although they are countless) for sharing her life with me..

1. Thank you Lexi for welcoming me when I met you. Jon loves me but You didn't have to. You could have just ignored me, but you played with me and loved me.. :)

2. Thank you Lexi for sitting and waiting while I cooked.. Your company made me so happy. I use to dropped a noodle on purpose, you know.

3. Thank you Lexi for being so happy when I came to his house. I appreciated every tail wag.*

4. Thank you Lexi for sleeping on my tummy when I played a game. (sorry for scaring you when I got mad at the game. I yelled at it, not you) :)

5.*Thank you Lexi for wanting to play with me whenever I felt bored.. You were so funny, you kept me entertained all the time.

6. Thank you Lexi for following me everywhere I went when I got to have you over my house. I really miss the sound of your collar and your little paws against the floor..

7. Thank you Lexi for trying your hardest to climb up the bed to comfort me when you saw me crying.

8. Thank you Lexi for toughing it out while I dried you. I know you hated that blow dryer.. Yet you still loved me afterwards.

9. Thank you Lexi for making Jon so happy.. You were his longer than me. He misses you so much.

10. Thank you Lexi for living as long as you did. I never had a dog before...and you became so much more than a dog. You were the best.. I love you and please know that me and jon will never forget you..

I'd be so happy if you guys put up 10 thank you for your lossed loved*ones. It's very comforting..

What a beautiful tribute to Lexi. Know that time will help to heal your pain and that your memories of her will help comfort you. I lost my Polo (14 yrs old) last summer when I had to make the painful decision to put him to sleep. Here is my list of Thank You's to Polo.

1. Thank you Polo for teaching me how rewarding it is to adopt a rescued animal. I truly think you loved us for saving you and we tried our best to give you a comfortable, loving home for your last 5 years.

2. Thank you Polo for tolerating the blow dryer even though I know you hated it.

3. Thank you Polo for putting up with the bows I put in your hair on special occasions even though some of your two legged brothers teased you about it.

4. Thank you Polo for being so patient with me while I gave you your insulin injections twice a day. Through all of your pokes and blood sugar testing, you were never grumpy and made it so much easier for me.

5. Thank you Polo for being the *best* snuggler. Bar none.

6. Thank you Polo for getting along with all of the 4 legged brothers and sister in our house. You adapted so easily when you came to live with us. Even though you and Domino never became friends, I think he still wonders where you went.

7. Thank you Polo for being such a good dog through our ordeal with Hurricane Ike. You couldn't see that we slept in the closet while the storm passed and you stayed as happy as a bug in a rug in your car seat while we spent 6 days with no electricity.

8. Thank you Polo for keeping me company in my office every day while I worked. You were always quiet whenever I had to take a call.

9. Thank you Polo for always greeting me with excitement whenever I came home. You made me feel very loved and appreciated.

10. Thank you Polo for showing us how special yorkies are. I cannot imagine now not having one in my life but know that you will always hold a most precious place in our hearts.

That's really sweet.. I'm sure he appreciated every pat on the head and belly rub.. 14 sounds like a nice long life, I'm sure he really loved every remaining year with you.. :love:

These are really beautiful. I will think about this and post when I am able to. My baby passed away this weekend one month short of her 17th birthday. Thank you for what you have written and for the tribute to your babies.

Sam 1994- 2010.

Thankyou Sam for coming into my life, the very day before we lost your father, you were such a great comfort .

Thankyou Sam for being so funny and making me laugh at all your antics.

Thankyou Sam for putting up with a 3,000 mile journey when we relocated and for doing it so well.

Thankyou Sam being my shadow and keeping a loving eye on me at all times.

Thankyou Sam for listening to my rants and emotional outbursts and laying your head under my neck, to let me know it was ok.

Thankyou Sam for getting me through losing your mother Holly and for being so brave and showing me how to go on.

Thankyou Sam for tolerating having your teeth cleaned regularly and yet still end up having to have them all pulled. You did great, you were such a tough little guy.

Thankyou Sam for being so good when I had to leave you for three weeks every year, when I went back home to visit family, and still loving me so much when I returned.


Thankyou Sam for being so good about travelling with work and staying in endless hotel rooms .

Thankyou Sam for the dream you sent me before you passed, it's been a great comfort and just for being you:-)

1.Thank you Muffin for coming into our lives 13 years ago at the age of 2 years and bringing so much joy and mischief to our lives...(Like eating the cute little duck soap) and trailing toliet paper from room to room.
2.Thank you Muffin for making the boys Ryan and Aaron argue over who was going to sleep in the bottom bunk with you and giving them growth and confidence through a bad divorce.
3.Thank you Muffin for helping me during some hard times in my life and always being there to suggle beside me at the end of a long day.
4.Thank you Muffin for always giving me that little snort when it was Morning time or Night time food and making me eat also.
5.Thank you Muffin for allowing us to dress you up at Halloween even though you didn't like it.
6.Thank you Muffin for always waiting for Christmas morning to OPEN up your presents.
7.Thank you Muffin for always being a good dog when others came to visit.
8.Thank you Muffin for putting up with the crazy groomers we would go to and never ever leaving as a bad dog. (They always wanted you back).
9. Thank you Muffin for letting us have you in our lives and us enjoying you everyday until the end.
and 10. Thank you Muffin for being the dog that my boys grew up with and us not wanting to say goodbye to you as we have your ashes upon your bed and we speak to you often and miss you everday as my heart still aches for you. I love you my dear friend and will never ever forget you.

That was really special and unique - my thoughts are with you and Jon...and of course....little Lexi.

Thank you, Nikki, for your kindness and for starting this thread. As promised, below are my thank yous to my beloved little girl. She was everything to us, and I don't think I could ever truly tell her how much she means to us or how lost we are without her.

1. Thank you, Ashley, for making our home the happiest place on Earth for almost 17 years. Even though Mommy and Daddy are having a difficult time now facing each day without you, what you gave us was worth all of the pain we are feeling right now.

2. Thank you, Ashley, for being such a loving and loyal little girl. Your love will always burn bright in our hearts.

3. Thank you, Ashley, for letting us share our love with Kiwi and Gracie after you had all of the attention and affection to yourself.

4. Thank you, Ashley, for our walks together. You would get so excited when you were able say hello to everyone, especially the kids. I would come alive when I saw you like that.

5. Thank you, Ashley, for cuddling up close to Daddy and keeping him company when Mommy went to work. He loved taking care of you and having you as his baby. Thank you for taking care of him, too.

6. Thank you, Ashley, for helping Mommy and Daddy when your baby sisters passed away. You were sad too, but you helped to bring back our smiles.

7. Thank you, Ashley, for all of the kisses and wiggles when I would come home from work. Daddy would hold you and say, “Mommy’s home.” I loved when you would wiggle and flail your paws to try to reach out to me. You felt safe when you were with Mommy and Daddy and we would cuddle up next to you. That’s when I felt safe, too.

8. Thank you, Ashley, for our summers. I looked forward to summers most of all because Mommy and Daddy could spend all of our time with you. I kept telling you that summer was coming and that I wouldn’t have to leave you. I knew you weren’t going to live forever, but I was praying for at least one more summer with you.

9. Thank you, Ashley, for being such a trooper when Daddy was in the hospital. I was less lonely because you were there, and you kept me going. It would have been unbearable for us if anything happened to you when we weren’t there with you.

10. Thank you, Ashley, for cuddling even closer your last few weeks with us. No matter how close you were to us, you would want to get even closer until at least part of you was in our laps or arms. When you finally had to leave us, you waited for a time that I could be there holding you. I held you for hours and hours, and Mommy and Daddy told you how much we loved you. You were such a special little girl and our very precious baby. We were so proud to be your Mommy and Daddy. You brought life and laughter to our home and love into our hearts. We miss and love you so.

This is such a beautiful thread, but I can't stop crying. :cry:

What wonderful loving thank-you's ..Nikkipoop thank you for this wonderful thread. I am sitting hear bawling my eyes out, but my heart is touched by the love you can feel in everyones words to their babies that they have lost.

i've read everyone's thank you, and believe me I can't get passed one without crying.. These are very sweet and very intimate. I am so happy yt members put so much love and effort into their Thank-yous.

1 Thank You Julz for picking me to be your mommy, we were a great match
2 Thank You Julz for being patient and understanding when I had to leave you alone, you know I hated it more than you
3 Thank you Julz for accepting Randy as your new Daddy at the age of 6mo, you know you had him hooked at first lick
4 Thank you Julz for teaching me unconditional love, you were my first baby girl!
5 Thank you Julz for being one to never wonder off without a leash around your neck and staying at my feet , I was so proud of YOU walking around the islands flaunting OUR stuff girl, so was DADDY, those big dogs were so jealous
6 Thank you Julz for being so smart and easy to train, I always said you were a HARVARD grad, Dudley is still in community college, but he’s hopefully gonna make it, HEHEHEHE, I know you’re smiling at him
7 Thank you Julz for enriching my life, you really are a big reason for who I am today
