My poor little chance he made it to week 6 and he lost his fight to hold on,:fallen: the vets said he would never make it to see week 2 but with bottle feeding every 2 hours and a lot an lot of TLC he made it this far.:animal-pa he started having seizures early this morning, they said that he had Hydrocephalus which is water on the brain,:eek: they told me that he had to be a hole pound he only weighted in at 6.5 oz, my vet said he would keep having seizures until he past a way slowly so i let him go fast and quietly as his little body laid curled in my hands, he went to that rainbow bridge :rbyorkie: in the skies i miss him so, :cry:

Has any one else lost a baby to this or have any one else heard of this in yorkies?

Thank you i need them so i spent every hour on the hour with him on my side he was born on 3-14 and now he is gone all i do is cry i miss him so

There a few reasons yorkies can get hydrocephalus. AAI and Chiari are a couple but there are others too. Some can be hereditary and some congenital. If you breed your dog you need to research these things as you would not want to pass these things on to other pups. It is heartbreaking to loose a pup this way and not all pups die early from these conditions they become the new owners problem later in the dogs life. Either way it happens the dog suffers and the owner along with it.

I am so sorry for your loss of little Chance. My thoughts are with you. It breaks your heart I know. We had to put our yorkie Baby to sleep at 16 yrs. Her little body just wore out. You did the right thing and Chance would thank you for his peaceful rest.

i'm so sorry for the pain you are going through. euthanasia is becoming a daily thing for me to experience in my reception job with a vet's office and i tell you every single time the family comes in together to go into the dreaded room i tear up. today it was a golden retriever which hit home since we just lost our golden a couple winters back...it still hurts like yesterday sometimes. and i can't bear the thought of loosing my sweet Sadie. i know you much you hurt. time does help to heal and knowing that the poor dear won't suffer anymore will help to soothe your pain.

we are praying for comfort.
