My Big boy is gone Saturday nite my Buster passed on. It is only now I can really talk about it. He has been ill for 2 years with Pancreatitis, diabetes, heart murmers. He was, in the last 2 weeks having strokes about every other day. Saturday, he had 3. About time to go to bed he had a major seizure. It was the most horrible experience to see the pain and agony he had gone thru. We met the Vet at the clinic and she said he was almost gone, and I agreed as I new when I brought him in he was dying in my arms. I let him go to the rainbow bridge knowing that I loved him so and will always miss him. I believe he is now in a much better place. Joyfully, I still have my little Sissy who you see in the avatar. She is a changed dog. I never realized the competition she was going thru with Buster. Now I am giving all my love and devotion to her as I have to admit, I gave so much to Buster in his daily health routine that she got the short end of the stick so to speak. But she sure is enjoying all the attention. But I will miss Buster he was only 10 years old and had alot of life to give. Even after the seizure he stood up and if he could speak he would say, I'm not done yet! I will miss him beyond words. Love to all, Lana and Sissy |

Deja Vu I couldn't believe it in reading your post because my Gertie had the same exact challenges. She had been diabetic and we had been giving her insulin twice a day for the last 2+ years. She was 14 and died in my arms on Sunday the 13th after having a series of seizures. The only thing I could do was hold her during her seizures and hope she was aware that I was there and doing the only thing I knew to do. She had seizures from 12:30 am until she died at 5:15am. I am so sorry as I know exactly what you are going through in having put so much energy into caring for a beloved pet and then having them die and trying to deal with the loss. I didn't have another dear yorkie to love and "spoil" after Gertie died, but I have since adopted a new "sweet baby girl". Although my fingers are suffering from her desire to play tug of war with her puppy teeth, she has brought me joy and eased my pain a bit. Be patient with yourself and enjoy your little girl as you learn to remember your big boy with joy instead of pain in the days and weeks to come. I will be thinking of you and hope your joy begins to ease the pain. |
So sorry... We lost a beloved yorkie 3 years ago now and can tell you from experience that the wonderful memories of their company and their love will always be with you. :) Hope you heal soon! |
Your thread broke my heart... I'm so sorry for the loss of Buster! |
Sorry to read that you gave Buster the last gift of love. Cherish his memory. Harley left us very quickly. Little DJ was a very sick pup and after nursing him for a year I had to let him go too and Annie 4 weeks later. Each time I followed the 10th Pet Commandment, I was the last person they saw:cry:. 10. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say, "I can't bear to watch it" or "Let it happen in my absence." Everything is easier for me if you are there. Remember I love you. |
So very sorry for your loss of Buster... |
So sorry for your loss. It must have been so very hard on you to see him in pain, and somewhat of a relief that he's now at peace. May your happy memories of him live on in your heart, and your lil girl give you all the puppy love you need. |
