Lost Buddy last Sunday After many years of one health problem after another, we decided that Buddy would finally see the Rainbow Bridge. We are still crying. This last round of illness started with a limp in the right leg. It progressed rapidly until he was completely paralyzed from the neck down. He could not walk or even stand up. Vet had him on prednisone for a couple of weeks along with all of the other meds he was constantly taking. She said that there was no hope, suspected neuro damage but to find out, was an MRI that cost a great deal of money..when your baby is paralyzed what good does spending another $3000 dollars do? Sometimes, I think vets are a racket these days. Anyway we are looking for another little one to light our lives up as we are both devastated. Any recommendations for breeders in AZ? No puppy mills or backyarders please...want a dog from a breeder who cares about the breed instead of money. |
.So sorry for your loss. |
Thank You. Thanks for your expression of sympathy...only another yorkie owner would know... |
So sorry about your loss. Buddy is probably in heaven now running around with my Stormy! I can feel your pain very much so, my girl was constantly ill in her very short life. She passed away on July 13th and my life has forever been changed. :( I miss her terribly but she sent me a little girl to help ease the pain. If you look under yorkies for sale on here theres lots of wonderful breeders who care about their yorkies just as much as us. :) |
Sorry to hear of your great loss. If you are looking for a reputable breeder I would contact Mike Honora of Golden Rule. They are located in Scottsdale. I contacted him back in January but he didn't have any puppies. He said he should have a litter in the fall. His email is mike.honora@cox.net Best wishes. |
Thanks We sure miss him...thanks for your thoughts and advice.. |
I am sorry to hear about Buddy. I hope you find a baby to help ease the loss of Buddy. |

So sorry about your little Buddy. I know how much it hurts to lose a special little one. I'm glad you are looking for another pup as it sounds like you have lots of love in your heart for one. RIP Buddy. |
So terribly sorry for the loss of your Buddy. As difficult of a decision, find peace in the fact that he is running and jumping somewhere over the Rainbow Bridge and one day....he will jump into your arms again. RIP Sweet boy.... |
I am so very sorry for your loss. |
I'm so sorry for the loss of your baby Buddy. I too know the difficulty in making the decision to finally let go. I think it's great that your looking for another baby to love. You can't replace Buddy but having another baby to love does help your heart heal. |
I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss of Buddy... Deepest sympathies to you and your family. |
I Hate That I hate that you lost your pet...they are wonderful. God will be with you through it all! |
I am so sorry to hear about Buddy! I completely understand the deep pain of your loss for your little guy. Years ago, we went through a loss of Scrunchy who was only 2 years old and got cancer (Lymphoma sarcoma). We spent $5000 on chemotherapy and he lived another 3 weeks. I think we want to grab at any bit of hope the vet offers and looking back was not the best thing to do for him and us. I am deeply sorry about your loss. |
So sorry for your lost.... God Bless you |
Thank You Thanks...where did you get your little one in the picture...she made my husband laugh and he hasn't laughed in days...cute face! |
I am so sorry to hear of your great loss, your precious Buddy. I will pray for God to comfort you and also that another baby come into your lives soon, and help you through your loss. *HUG* |
So Sorry! I am so sorry to hear of your loss. May happy memories of Buddy comfort you during this difficult time. I'm sure he is running and playing again over the Rainbow Bridge. |

If I were you---I would call Helen at Vista Yorkies. She is awesome! I only give referrals if they are breed fanciers. Helen is respected. I can't say who can have her yorkies. But it's worth trying! They're lovely and bred to the standard. Here's a link Vista Yorkshire Terriers If she isn't helpful, ask HER who to go to. She will guide you locally to a quality breeder. Helen is great about spending time talking to you on the phone "just to help" people that want a yorkie for the right reason. I think you will find a friend in her...Let me know what you find. Again, I'm sorry for your loss. |
I know your pain I lost my sweet Gertie on September 13th and am very grateful that I didn't have to make the decision you did. She died in my arms after suffering seizures for hours. I also want to find a new baby to help fill the hole she left. Part of me felt that I was being disloyal in wanting another "baby" so soon, but others on this forum have assured me that my heart would let me know when the time was right. I hope you find a lovely puppy to bring joy to your lives again soon. It is clear that you love your pups dearly and have given a great deal to Buddy. I believe that they know how much we love them and the depth of our loyalty to them. I look forward to hearing of your new puppy and the healing that begins. Take care and be patient with yourselves. |
I am terribly sorry for your loss. Treasure the memories of the life you have shared. In your search for a new puppy, may only love find you,may only love fill you, may only love flow from you. |
I'm so sorry for the loss of Buddy. By now he's running around and playing with all of our other pups that we've lost. I'm sure that he's enjoying the Rainbow Bridge and I bet he's playing with my Max. |
I'm so very sorry about the loss of your Buddy. I know it hurts. Please know that you are not alone, and cherish all the memories you have, they are so precious. Big hug, Meg |
I'm so sorry :animal-pa. |
I'm so sorry for your loss, but it sounds like you gave it much time a thought before you sent him home to heaven...that should bring you peace at such a sad time. I also want to say that getting another furbaby is a very smart idea. I too lost my Chewy last month. I sent him home to heaven on Sept. 10th. He had neuro issues and was spinning in circles for a whole year. He also had other issues, which I won't go into. We did get a new little one 2 weeks before he passed. Our new pup which we named "Patch" after Patch Adams has been such a light during such a sad time in our lives and seeing the contrast of this new happy pup compared to poor Chewy who could stand on his own and didn't even realize Patch was even there...it really confirmed our decision to send Chewy Home. We know we didn the right thing as we (like you) took much time and thought before making that decision. I just want to encourage you to find that new pup as he/she will pull you through this very difficult time. Make no mistake about it, he/she of course would never & could never replace your beloved Buddy...but Buddy I'm sure would want you continue his legacy with a new little one. I see Chewy in Patch so much and still cry for Chew as he will always be my forever dog. Good luck finding your new pup/dog. Keep your chin up and know you'll see your Buddy again in paradise! He's having a splendid time up there with my Chewy and all the other animals and people...I'm sure of it!!!! Quote:
