In Memory of my Mickey Mouse 1 Attachment(s) My mom got Mickey Mouse when I was just a little girl-- in 1996 I think. We were the best of pals. We'd play hide and seek and all kinds of other fun things. Mickey was not the nicest dog. He was actually quite a terror, LOL. He never grew out of it. He demanded to be slept with, and if you moved the covers an inch he would get seriously po'd... he'd bite and attack anything that annoyed him. He did not like new people, he would never stop barking at guests. It was a rare occasion when we'd get to brush him, he looked kind of scruffy most of the time but he liked it that way... and we liked not getting bit. Haha. My tough little warrior definitely ruled the household, and our hearts. When my Grandma had cancer he never left her side. She hated him at first, but my Grandma soon became one of Mickey's biggest fans. When my grandma had to go to the hospital he didn't leave her chair for days, and I was sad that my grandma never got to come back to say goodbye tom him. I know that he missed her. Mickey got sick because we washed him with a certain flea shampoo, a shampoo which was later recalled for being too dangerous for dogs. He was sick for around three days, and when he died he died in my arms. It was one of the most horrifying things I've ever experienced in my entire life. I try not to think about that scene, instead I think of Mickey biting someone and I can smile again. Mickey was nine years old when he died. He had been there for me during my childhood. I will never forget him. When it came time for me to be able to get my own baby, I chose another yorkie (Emmett). He has helped the wound of Mickey's death to heal. I just want Mickey to know that he will always have a place in my heart. I love you Mickey, and I still miss you buddy. I miss sharing pizza rolls with you and playing the games we used to play. I hope we can all be together one day after our lives are over so we can love and laugh and play! You'd love to bully Emmett, lol. |
My childhood dog and best friend was Mickey too. He disappeard one night during a thunderstorm, and I never loved another dog until Sophie (who I bought when I was over 50 y/o). My Mickey was a terror too, but when he loved you, he gave you his whole self, just like your Mickey. Mine was a mixed breed, but he was very special. Hugs to you, and I know you will always have a special place for your Mickey in your heart. |
Thanks for the memories of your Mickey MissSophie. Another fond memory I have of my Mickey is that everyday he'd be waiting by the door when I'd get off the school bus. My mom said that he always knew what time it would be coming and he'd wait for me to come home. Also, he was at his sweetest when I was sick. He'd always lay with me and make me feel better. I loved him so much. |
Your Mickey was so beautiful. Thanks for sharing. |
I am so sorry for your loss. R.I.P. Mickey. |
So sorry for your loss. What a horrible thing to happen because of a product that you trusted. RIP little sweet boy. |
Aww, Mickey was so cute. So sorry for your loss! Losing my childhood Golden Retriever was SO hard... We got her in 1995 and lost her in 2005, ten years later. I cried so much. |
