A Grandma's tribute to a loyal companion JAG My mom wrote this poem in tribute to Jag. My dad always aggravated me by calling Jag "JACK," so that is the title of the poem. This poem made me smile and laugh a little when thinking about Jag. JACK Not many days have come and gone that we've allowed "dogs" to enter our home. But you were "unique" and one of a kind, possessing qualities that are hard to find. You had the shrillest bark I've ever heard and could easily try my last nerve. But your happy brown eyes and cute pointed ears became such a feature we loved through the years. What a charmer you were on your two back feet- twirling round and around to get a "special treat." "Jag, I'll get the paper" still rings in my ear- how quickly you would scramble with a gentle swat on the rear. You brought a sense of joy in the darkest of night, and a glimpse of sunshine on a cloudy day. These thoughts of you will never fade away. Thanks for the memories "our tiny friend," May God bless and keep you until we meet at rainbows end. Grandma & Grandpa |
