In memory of Jag You came into my life on a cold December day... and went away on a cold January night. I never saw it coming, never knew you would leave... didnt have time to get ready or prepare myself to grieve. We shared our lives together... best friends through the years, you were there through life's moments the laughter and the tears. You touched my heart like no other... your warmth was always near. Loneliness and emptiness without you.. I now fear. Always happy to see me coming, waiting on my return... so many of life's lessons only you have helped me learn. Never take anything for granted.. spend time with those you love. Your days on Erath are numbered and controlled by the one above. In the quiet and stillness of the evening hour... far off in the distance I can hear, your bark and funny little howl. I hear the pitter-patter of your tiny little paws... you were my constant shadow wherever I went, to help me along life's way, I' convinced is why you were sent. How I wish we could snuggle, if only for one hour... I'd hold you near me so tight, I'd savor every moment and never let you out of sight. You were always there beside me... changing your mood to match mine. A more true friend and companion one could never find. I awoke this morning to a beautiful sunrise... I immediately thought of you. I wondered if this was a sign from you, telling me what to do. I'm at the Rainbow Bridge, waiting for you... do not grieve your life away , live your life with joy and find happiness in all you do. As you work in your shade garden in springtime, under the old oak tree... there you will find my marker, but remember it's not me. I'll be the breeze you fill on a warm spring day, the flowers you see blooming in the month of May. I'll be the falling leaves in the cool mountain air... the snowflakes falling gently in your dark hair.
