Thank you all again for such sweet, kind comments. Gidget brought joy to all who knew her and my life was touched by her in so many ways. Kathy |
So Glad You Are Here! Hi kathy It is so nice to have you here on YT with all of us Yorkie crazy people! The day that I found this site, I gained so many loving friends. I can't go a single day without spending time here , reading, talking , learning, sharing. I have learned so much here, cried a million tears here, laughed here, and received so much comfort being a part of YT. I understand the pain you went through , losing your husband and then your beloved Gidget. I too lost my husband (8) yrs ago to a sudden heart attack. He was only 43 yrs old. The shock and pain were unbearable. If it were not for The Lord I would have never made it through. My husband bought me a tiny Schnauzer (12 yrs ago) as a Valentine's present. I named her Leipshen. Together we adored our Leipshen. When Jimmy (my husband) died, Leipshen mourned right along with myself and our children. She is now 12 yrs old. She is completely blind, and was recently diagnosed with Cushing's disease. She is a trooper though, still happy, and oh so loveable. The only comfort that I have, when thinking that her days are probably numbered, is that when she goes to Heaven, there will be a joyous reunion for Jimmy and Leipshen, oh how happy they will be to see each other again. I know she will be fine with The Lord and Jimmy until the day comes for me to join them. I too have an adorable baby Yorkie named "Biscuit". I love him more than words can say. He is so wonderful to Leipshen. If I call Leipshen, he will run to her and guide her over to me. He will be my source of comfort, here on earth, when Leipshen is called to Heaven. I also will have the love and support from all of my friends here on YT, something I never forget to thank God for. Welcome again...and thank you for sharing your touching story. Patti |
Patti - Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your post. You know exactly how I felt. My husband had Parkinson's Disease for 11 years and the dementia was "PD induced". His favorite times were taking Gidget for rides around the neighborhood on his electric wheel chair. All he had to do is ask her if she was ready to go out and ride and she would jump up and down until I put her in the pak-a-pal. He was quite a bit older than your hubby (74) and he was 16 years older than me. I'm thankful I was able to take care of him and then take care of her little bundle of joy...Gidgie. Again thank you for your post. Regards Kathy |
I am very sorry for the loss of your husband and sweet little Gidget. I saw the picture you posted of the two of them together. you can tell how happy they both are. My Suzi is 6 months old... She is my therapy/service animal. I undersand what a Yorkie can do for a person's health and well being. She means the world to me. AND she is a spitfire too. Hofefully, she will calm down when she is a little older. Glad you found YT, enjoy. :aimeeyork |
