I am so sorry for your loss and having to witness such a horrible scene. I can't believe someone would train an animal to kill another animal. This dog has the potential to attack and/or kill a small child. I hope and pray this doesn't happen. |
I'm so sorry about your baby Scooter:unlove: It just breaks my heart to know that your family is being so asinine about the GS dog:mad: How the heck did he get that big anyway, do they normally get to be 200 lbs?!?!? I know a guy with a Bull Mastiff that's over 200 lbs, but he had fed it steroids as a puppy to make it get bigger:( Anyway, I'm praying for you and your family and hope that they come to their senses and put that dog down before it ends up killing a child. An electric fence won;t stop him if he wants something bad enough, either:( |
willowsmom I AM SO VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. I KNOW HOW DEVESTATED YOU MUST BE, BEING AN ANIMAL LOVER MYSELF. YOUR BROTHER NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT HE HAS TAUGHT HIS DOG TO DO. ANIMALS ARE LOVING CREATURES AND UNFORTUNATELY SOMETIMES, UNCARING PEOPLE TAKE IT UPON THEMSELVES TO TAKE SOMETHING SO BEAUTIFUL AND TURN THEM INTO MONSTERS. JUST KNOW THAT THERE ARE ALOT OF PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO CARE AND ARE THINKING ABOUT YOU AND SCOOTER. MAY YOUR PRECIOUS LITTLE BABY REST IN PEACE. IM SURE RIGHT NOW SCOOTER IS PLAYING WITH ALL THE FURRY FRIENDS IN RAINBOW BRIDGE. AGAIN MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY'S. :lovewings:rbyorkie: |
Hi .... just wanted to see how you're doing ..... :( |
OMG, I am so sorry. Thinking of you at this very sad time x |
Oh no.. I feel your pain. I am so so sorry. I would be worried about your daughter also. |
I'm so sorry .........I feel your pain as well and my heart is hurting for you , I cannot imagine your pain and hate to be around the dog that killed your scooter but please don't do anything crazy , that dog is just a victim himself by being trained to kill (small animals), he is just doing what he thinks is right......... humans training their dogs to do this should take the responsibility and blame of their dogs actions. :( |
You know what It is not about Scooter anymore.....although my heart greives for you. It is about ignorance...and senselessness. I am utterly ashamed of the adults in this situation and how they are reacting.....it is so beyond words to describe how shocked I am that they are not handling this situation appropriately. Please let me know where you live in a PM and I will make the phone call. |

I'm so sorry for your loss. Poor little Scooter....I cried while reading your post. Sending you lots of hugs & my deepest sympathy.:fallen: |
After just reading your last post and realizing your brother is only 15 it's your father that should be ashamed of himself for condoning what he has allowed his son to do. Raise a killer and be proud of it. What is this teaching your brother? Certainly not respect for a living creature. I feel so sorry for you. It it were me I would stay away from them both! If they don't respect you and your family and realize the fear you feel and the heartache you feel for the lose of something you loved, what kind of people are they. I blame your father. I'm sorry but it's the truth. Your brother is 15 and look what you father has already allowed him to become. Very sad. I am very, once again, sorry for your loss. Hugs, |

Sorry For Your Loss OMG!!! My heart is hurting for you! Report the dog and what happened ASAP. Although it isn't the dog's fault that he is trained to attack other animals, the reality is that he DOES attack other animals and should not be able to continue. Responsible dog owners raise their dogs to be loving additions to their household, not killers waiting for the first opportunity to attack. The responsible thing to do is for the dog to be euthanized. YES, you should be concerned for the safety of your child as well as any other child that might possibly be around. As for your decision whether or not to try to save little Scooter, his conditions as you described and whatever the doctor informed you at the time, along with your love for your baby, I'm sure you made the right choice. It's never easy. I totally understand. I have worked in the veterinary field since 1991, and have been right there with pet owners agonizing over that heavy decision many, many times over. You did what was best. I'm so sorry for your loss. |
OMG I am so sorry for your loss and your pain!! I just don't even know what to say! People like that should not own dogs or even know what a dog is!!! Can't you turn them in to the anti-cruelty society? or make a police report and have them investigate them? My prayers are with you! Rest In Peace Scooter!! |
I am so sorry for your loss. I just can't believe your unfortunate situation. I wish you can move away from your parents home, away from your brother and killer dog but it seems it isn't an option right now. Please be safe for your daughter. I am sorry but I am soooo angry over your parents. I would report to animal control for you if you can't. I do fear for your daughter's safety. My concern is your daughter and other small dogs in your area. I wish there is a solution for you. Please have some peace in your heart you and know you are not alone. We are here to share the sorrow. |
I am so sorry. RIP Scooter.:angelyork |
I feel so bad for you. I have 2 yorky fur kids. It would be real hard if something happened to either of them. I think most yorkies are yappers.Big dogs hate that. I know for a fact that german shepards don't have to be trained to kill small animals. It's in their blood. They were my favorite dog untill mine bit my nephews ear off a few years ago. Another story. Time heals all wounds. Hang in there. |
I'm so sorry to hear about this loss. Unfortunately a German Shepard can scale an 8' fence. I have seen it happen. Too bad that your family doesn't see the danger in having this dog so near to your 2 year old. Tragedy can happen in an instant and your brother needs to realize the horrific situation if it had been your daughter and not poor little Scooter. |
so sorry for your loss I'm so sorry for your loss. Last week a neighbors yorkie, Rex was attacked by yes another german shepherd while he was on a walk with his owner Desirae. It was awful. The shepherd cut them off from behind and pushed Desirae into some rosebushes then attacked little Rex. My son witnessed the whole thing. He saw the shep. sneak up on them. My son was yelling, "pick up Rex", but Desirae didn't hear him. The shepherd shook Rex like a rag doll. The owners of the shephred were one bit remorseful. They know I called animal control so they have been taunting us. Animal Control only gave them a warning about the leash law and next time they will be cited. Rex had to have surgery due to injuries in his throat and stomach and he will be ok. He and Desirae will never forget this. So I guess I won't be walking my babies in my neighborhood. My prayers are with you and yours. A righteous man regards the life of his animal... Proverbs 12:10 |
I am so sorry for your loss. What a horrible situation to be in. I just wanted to add that it is possible for a dog to jump an 8 foot fence. When I had my St. Bernard everything I read said they could easily jump a 6 foot fence. As a puppy she could easily put her paws on top of our 4foot fence. |
I am so sorry for your loss. I was outside today and was holding Mia and she wanted down and I wouldn't let her because I feared the very thing that happened to your baby. You never know when a dog is going to come out of nowhere and attack our babies. They are best protected in our loving arms. They don't realize that, because they just want down to play, but we know best. I'm so sorry for your loss and I pray that your heart heals quickly. Know we here, at yorkie talk, are thinking about you.:rbyorkie: |
I just wanted to say that our yorkie mix was killed this morning by a lab that jumped our 4tf fence. She was only out there when a human was but it did her little good. I feel your loss almost as I feel our own. Please stay strong and remember Scooter's love. |
