coco is gone. We just lost coco this morning. She was in the kitchen. I had just taken her out to run for a few minutes. She nipped buddy (chocolate lab), and he bit her back defending himself. She died within minutes. She has been nipping alot lately. I should have known better. He must have punctured her lung or something. I cannot believe i lost her. Buddy really did not mean to hurt her but she was so small and delicate that all it took was one bite. It is all my fault for not watching her when i let her out. I really thought they would be okay, but i guess i learned my lesson. I was in the room but it happened so fast. I cannot believe i am actually posting on this forum. I just got her a few weeks ago. marla |
Marla, I am so terribly sorry for your loss! God bless you. |
Oh, please do not blame yourself! This was a tragic accident. I am so sorry for your loss. We lost our first yorkie to seizures, a month after we got him. I know the shock that you are feeling. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. |
I am so sorry you lost your precious baby. Please don't beat up on yourself over it. Accidents happen and this was an accident that you could not have predicted. |
Marla, I am so sorry. Buddy never would have meant that to happen to your precious little Coco. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Rest peacefully sweet, baby girl. |
I am so sorry for your loss......I loss my first yorkie within the first month of having him due to seizures.....This was just a tragic accident that I am sure Buddy did not mean to cause....I hope I am wording this right.... You are in my prayers... Joyce |
Omg how terrible,Iam so very sorry:( my prayers are with you. |
Rick Caran re Coco Marla, I am so sorry about Coco. It's a fear that I think any of us Yorkie people have. One problem is that they are so brave, that they feel they can do that little 'snap and act tough' act when big dogs come near or crowd them. Jilli acts fierce toward them, but in reality she has no real defense. You 'can't' blame yourself or Buddy, it was an instinctive response, and one that probably would not have done any serious harm to most larger size dogs. Your sharing will remind many of us to try to avoid such situations as best we can, which is not easy. Thank you and again, I'm sorry for your loss. Best regards, Rick |
sorry about coco! you never knew this was gonna happen so dont blame yourself! thats not gonna change anything or make anything better. Im sorry for your loss. and coco is in a better place. |
im so sorry for your loss:( my sisters jack russel (mo) was killed by just one bite a few weeks back from a gsd, mo thought he was bigger than he was. |
I'm so sorry for your loss! |
Oh Marla, I am so sorry for the loss of your precious Coco. It could happen to any of us who have larger furbabies. I know my Mozart (23lb mix) is constantly putting up with Abigail's snips and snaps. He's such a gentleman though, he won't discipline her. Perhaps he knows that one bite is all it would take to do real damage. I just feel so sorry for him; he's in his 13th year, and here is this li'l snippy thing in his face. Please, grieve as you need; but, don't blame-grieve. Coco, like so many of our Yorkies, thought she was a Rottie. :rbyorkie: RIP, sweet baby girl. :rbyorkie: ada |
Awwww Marla I am so sorry for your loss of Coco. RIP sweet baby |
I'm very sorry for your loss. Please don't blame yourself though, it wasn't anyones fault but now she is waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for you, your family, and Buddy. Rest in Peace little Coco |
I am so sorry for you loss! As I was reading your post, Mylo (yorkie) and his big brother Blacky were playing downstairs and it really scared me. Blacky seems to be good with Mylo but you just never know. I am truely sorry for your loss and you are in my thoughts. |
