Thanks Yolanda for being here for me today. The decision was difficult, but I know it was the right thing to do. If you would've felt how he was breathing as I did when I held him, there was no doubt what had to be done. Seeing how he was breathing was heart-wrenching enough, feeling it was heart-breaking. I knew it was time to let him go. I am so thankful for everyone here helping me through this today.

Rose I am so sorry about Alfie, he lived a great long life and I know he had the best mommy of all...but it still so hard, I have one that is in bad heath also and I know my days are numbered with Peanut, my heart goes out to you...:( Big Hugs

I'm so sorry - Alphie had a long, loving life and will be waiting for the time you will be together again. He's beautiful.

Rose. I am very sorry about Alphie. My family and I had to do the same thing five months ago. Our Newman was 10 yrs. old. He had cancer that was operated on and returned aggressively only two months later. We had other testing done and they found a mass on his liver. I know how hard this is for you. Like you even knowing didn't make it any easier. We did the same thing that you did. We got the call on a Thursday about the mass and our vet brought us in Friday morning before they opened and we put our boy to rest. We had Newman from a little pup. I'm so very sorry. My parents were over and we were just talking about Newman tonight and I just broke down crying. It's such a hard thing to do, but take comfort as I did that you were there holding him and not a stranger. Elaine

Rose and family,
You continue to be in our thoughts and prayers on this very hard day. You gave your Alfie a long, very happy life as I can see in the wonder pictures that you shared with us. Know that he is not on pain anymore and let that give you peace. Hugs to all the puppies.

Rose, I am so sorry for your loss and I am sure that Alphie continues to feel your love ...there at Rainbow Bridge. It is so hard to lose a precious pet and even harder when you need to make that all important decision for them. I believe in my heart that they let us know when it is time and then they trust us to do this for them .... as difficult as it may be.
We grieve with you, as do many YT members who are reading this now.

Our deepest condolences to you and your family .

((((Luckylady)))) I am sorry to hear about Alfie and can totally relate to your pain. We had to let our Dexter go July 10, 2006 and I too held him during the process, it was the hardest thing I have ever done but I had to do it.

Alfie knows how much you love him and he will never forget what a wonderful mom you are. He is missing you too, but he is running and playing with Dexter and many others and is young and healthy again.

Take care of you and know that he is blessed to call you mom!
